All my JK's were lifted as well, I just felt sitting in the seat that my head was closer to the roll bar and that my legs were at a little more of an angle than what I remember in my JK's.I donāt feel this inch higher seat people speak of but my Jeep is lifted and the JLās Iāve sat in are. not. Regardless the width is slightly tighter but that seems to be from the more appointments and stuff on the doors. Height seems the same.
Where are you not fitting, height, width, leg room? I am 6'7" and 225 and I was a bit tight on the head room but leg room was decent, so was shoulder room (I have a 44" chest) but I would like to drop the seat about an inch overall and I would be happy. For me though I do not "fit" on almost any type of car, so I adapt.I just purchased a 2018 Rubicon JLU, at 6'8" 330lbs let me start by saying you will NOT fit if you are my size, im really dissapointed in Jeep for what they have done to this wranglers. I have contacted misch big boy brackets to see there timing on the brackets and they say they are at least 6 months out. I also went to my local auto guy to look to see how he can hack it up to get me to fit, with the new way the bracket is made hes not optimistic. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know, im going to look into maybe removing some of the foam out of the seat to get my to sit under the sound bar. I actually regret trading in my JK on the JL just becuase of how much smaller the cab is.
Iām sure one of the problems is the 100lb weight difference but Iām working on that. Lol my head hits the roof my knees hit the plastic. I do think if I could go two inches down and 2inches back it would be just as my JK was.Where are you not fitting, height, width, leg room? I had an old JKU (2008) and only briefly drove my brothers JK (2017) but it almost seems like the seat in the JLU is a bit narrower as well. What is your thoughts on that? I also reached out to extend my seat and they got back to me quickly. They said they were planning on working on it this month. If anyone here is near Orange County CA I think you could probably drop the Jeep off and they would machine you a new one for their design and may even give you a discount on the first one.Iām sure one of the problems is the 100lb weight difference but Iām working on that. I agree the seat is not as comfortable and narrower and i think it may even be shorter also. If i was in CA i would definitely let them have my Jeep to make the brackets.I had an old JKU (2008) and only briefly drove my brothers JK (2017) but it almost seems like the seat in the JLU is a bit narrower as well. I sat in the Cherokee while waiting for the prep on my Wrangler and was pretty amazed at how much room there is in it. More roomy than the Wrangler.I wish I could have rented a JL. I love it, but donāt fit comfortably. Iām only 6ā2ā and over weight. My left leg is firmly against the door, my right knee is on the 4x4 shifter, if I lean my head back it hits the speaker bar, if I lean the seat back any more my left should will be against the pillar, etc. I keep thinking I can lower the seat and itās higher than the passenger seat. Iām going to have fun for a while and let my so drive since sheās tiny. I should have bought a Cherokee or GC. I test drove a GC Trailhawk and it was so comfortable and luxurious. I was hoping this would work out for 10 years, but now Iām unfortunately going to tolerate it until I canāt and trade for a Cherokee or GC depending on comfort. I needed a flat towable 4x4. A longer test drive would have helped. No one can tell me though. I have to learn it all on my own.
I have kind of gone the oppisite way, I am 6ā6ā, and when I first got it I was a little worried I would get tired of my right leg resting on the shifter. With the doors on I found the strap was bugging me as it was rubbing on my left leg. But after a week of wheeling in Colorado, I found that I have pretty much gotten used to it. Doors off helps a lot, but obviously I cant run that all year. I found that if I extend my left leg enough there is a spot that is pretty comforatable. āI wish I could have rented a JL.
