I am in the middle of swapping my 2019 Sahara oem plastic bumper for an MP Concepts aluminum bumper. The new bumper comes with red tow hooks. My original bumper has black Mopar tow hooks. Either will fit.

The MP tow hooks are a bit "taller" by approx. 1/4 inch....providing some more room to work with for attachment. But I have to believe MP's tow hooks are not as rugged as the Mopar's?

I do like the all black look...black fairlead, black warn winch, etc. But if the taller hook is worth something, then so be it. Just thought I would ask!!!

Stick with the o e m black toe hooks! The red ones with the MP concepts. Bumper do not look like they're anywhere near the same quality as OEM.

Also, if you ever choose to go away from the. MP concepts bumper. Those tow hooks won't fit on anything else, but the oem tow hooks will fit on any other bumper you use that allows for oem tow hooks.

I had come across some pictures where both red hooks on an aftermarket bumper had been folded forward during a recovery. Because of this I disassembled everything and reused the stock hooks.

I wanted to keep my blue hooks, so I did the exchange yesterday. That required fully dissembling the old plastic bumper (already mostly taken apart anyway to retrieve the wire harness) and taking off the MP wings and inside aluminum bracket pieces on each end of the bumper.

I also reused the OEM hook bolts and nuts.

Same here...when I swapped on the Fauxpar steel bumper I reused my original hooks and cut the crash cans out of my Sport bumper too.

I was a bit reluctant to destroy the OEM parts but my winch wasn’t arriving for a few days so I sawed off the crash/crunch cans, took apart the MP bumper again and added those. Now I have some extra sheet metal for other possible projects.

The MP Concepts bumper has to be taken off of the Jeep and completely dissembled to do these mods. I thought I could remove bumper shell while on the vehicle, but it wouldn’t come off.
