Oracle flush mount in black. The reverse lights are as bright as a headlight. I see folks claiming they go bad quick, but I have Oracle for every single light on my Jeep and love them. Zero issues so far since 2019.

Good to hear they've lasted! Yeah originally was going to go Oracle but it seems like theres mixed feelings on quality/longevity whereas I haven't seen any bad reviews for Morimoto

Just swapped in some Morimoto smoked lenses, added the optional license plate boost bar. Very pleased - solid product.

Most likely going this route too! Just need to choose between smoked or red hmmm

Is the boost light bar worth adding? How's the install for the boost bar?

i'm using the basic lamp housings, upgraded with LED bulbs.

i didn't like the light pattern the factory LEDs produced or the fact that they're basically expensive and disposable if anything goes wrong with them, so didn't do the LED Option when i ordered my JL(U).

goodLEDs for the Reverse lamps made a surprising difference.
Me too, exactly this.

I will never install Oracle lights on my Jeep after the debacle I had with Oracle lights on my Bronco. Never again.

Had not seen that license plate light from Morimoto. Just went to their site to check it out and watch the video on it. Pretty cool. Makes me wish our license plate holder was centered to maximize the effect of that on a Jeep, but obviously there is a reason it is not and I'm sure you still get plenty of boost from it. Thanks for sharing.

I actually like the shape of the factory taillights, with the exception of the massive bulbous area on each one for the sensors, or where they WOULD be housed if your Jeep had sensors (Our 2024 has them, our 2018 does not). The running lights and brake lights are very bright and distinctive, but the weak reverse lights are universally agreed upon.

The challenge I find with aftermarket taillights is that very few of them look OEM in a style that goes with the vehicle's design, often looking jarringly out of place. For me, some of them are like putting on an Angry Jeep grille at each rear corner. It's all subjective, though, and I respect each owner's personal choices for their vehicle.

For me, the Oracles, Morimotos, and maybe a couple of others are the only ones I'd ever consider if my factory ones crap out. There are a couple I like as much as the factory, but really no reason to spend that money right now until one dies. I keep these Jeeps long enough, I'm sure I'll need to replace at least one of the sets, so we'll see what's out there then!

The smoked lens is subtle which I like. I previously had the Oracle reverse lights that went into the reflector housings. I got the first batch when they came out a few years ago. They worked great, and they were super bright. No issues with their offering at all. Winters, car washes, etc. No problems.

I replaced my plastic bumper recently with an OEM steel bumper, and decided to try something different for reverse light “boosting,” since I was going with the Morimoto tails.

Install was very easy. Yes - it does require drilling some holes to slightly lower the plate location, to accommodate the top mounted light bar. Very simple and the wiring plugs directly into the provided taillight harness. It is very bright, but does not “wash out” the rear camera screen view. The bar is slightly angled down. So best to avoid installing on the bottom of plate (as I saw someone doing on social media), as the boost bar will be upside down, and project light upwards.

Below pic may give you an idea.

Totally smashed the driver side tail light on the Rubicon so I knew that I wanted a low profile set to avoid a repeat of the carnage on another trail. I loved the look of the Oracle lights and the claim of brightness on the reverse lights. They were exactly as I had hoped, nice and low profile and very bright for reverse lights.
After about a 16 months, the driver side light went out so I reached out to Oracle. They asked for a video of the light so I sent it and they offered to replace it for a one-time out of warrantee claim, as long as I paid the shipping fee! I received the replacement and installed with no issues on that one, yet.
About 3 months later the other side went out so I am now looking for another option. I know they say that they will stand behind their product but there are just too many other people who have had issues with the lights failing. For the money (~$350), these should not be lights that I need to replace every 18 months.

any issues with them being plastic housing?
No issues at all. They’re ABS so stronger than most other taillight housings their new ones are injection molded housings.

Went with the Morimoto XBs (Red, Clear Lens) a few weeks back. Look nice, very bright, plug and play install.

I have the reverse light bar also. But didn’t want to drill too many bumper holes, so haven’t installed yet. It’s kind of tight back there, and I found it hard to find the best spot to run the cord through, with metal blocking things underneath the bumper in spots. That light bar just plugs right into the tail lights once mounted. But you have to run the cord through the bumper surface to plug it in To the left tail light.
