Where to keep RPM's?

On this 3.6 engine ,with the 6 sp manual, Rubicon....what is the best spot to keep the RPM's at ?....what's its "sweet spot" ?

Above 2k when accelerating at all. Doesn't like to be lugged below that. When cruising, anything is fine.

Like Wingman said, anything over 2k and to me, that includes cruising. This engine does not like to be below 2k rpms. It will buck and surge underneath 2k.

You don’t need to run it that high, unless your racing punk teenagers down your local strip. Lol

2000 minimum if accelerating. In my 6 speed, most shifts need to be at 3k or slightly above to keep the next gear at or above 2k.

Buck and surge is right at 1500 rpm for me and it is very annoying. I hope a tune at some point can fix this. 2k and above it is for me.

I agree, for accelerating need to be over 2K. I can "cruise" however in most gears around 1500 with no issues and this seems to be where the best gas mileage is obtained.

I’ve noticed that the ratios are much different (better) than my JK Rubicon. The owner’s manual has a few pages on optimal shift and cruising speeds which in my observation seems to support that 2K rpm recommendation
