  1. Bubbles in Paint at Door Hinges

18 JLUS here. Just over 90k miles now. Noticed small bubbles when new that have now spread to just about every hinge on the Jeep now. Most are on the aluminum panel, but a few extend to the hinge now. Hood hinges have now started flaking paint. Also an isolated spot on the edge of my hood that...
  2. How Many Miles on Your Manual Transmission/Clutch?

Just rolled 90k miles on my 18 JLUS with 33s - no problems thus far. About 90% highway and 10% VERY hard use in mud or beach sand.
  3. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) on 2018-2020 JL Manuals [overheating clutch pressure plate]

Just to add another data point to this discussion- 18 JLUS here, manufactured very early in the JL run. 33" tires and stock 3.45 gears. Just rolled 80k miles, about 90% highway and 10% very hard use in mud on farm or at the beach. Driven manual transmission vehicles (trucks) my whole life and...
  4. The clutch gang!

Same here - 57k on mine. No problems thus far, will keep driving until they come up with updated parts.
  5. Highest mileage JL so far?

A few: Death wobble showed up around 20k - fixed myself. Spark knock has been an issue since day 1. Can be corrected with 93 octane, but these days I just keep it in gear to a higher RPM before shifting and don't hear it much anymore. Clutch was a little finicky when new, but that has...
  6. Highest mileage JL so far?

I'd guess about 90% highway, the rest on the beach and less-than improved roads (I work on lots of farms). Almost zero city driving.
  7. Highest mileage JL so far?

    18 JLUS- purchased 5/18.
  8. radio went kaput and then came to live again

Mine has done this too. Base model 18 with the 5" screen. Never went dead while running though. I often run with the head unit off and a few times I would try to turn it on after driving a while and it was just dead. After seating all the fuses it hasn't done it again in over a year. I also had...
  9. GRANITE CRYSTAL METALLIC Wrangler JL Club

Sounds like regearing is in your future! The reason I ask is that I've been contemplating 35's as well on a similar Sport with the 6 speed. Sometimes these feel geared too high with the stock size tires, so I'm not sure that I'll go bigger than a 285/70r17. Great looking rig by the way!
  10. GRANITE CRYSTAL METALLIC Wrangler JL Club

I see you have the 6 speed trans - how does it drive now with the 35's?
  11. What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Installed the Westin WJ2 rear bumper today. Scored it for a $250 discount because of a couple scratches in the powder coat. Really happy with my setup now - only thing left to do is tires (darn OEM Bridgestone AT's just won't wear out! 53k miles on them and still plenty of life left).
  12. Let's See Some JLU Gutter Mounted Crossbars

Mopar bars here. 85+ lb WS Tarpon 14 kayak and no problems yet.
  13. Texas 4 BFG KO2s

Where are you located? If in S TX, I might take them off your hands.
  14. Winch bumper compatible with front receiver?

Barricade Adventure HD bumper with a Smittybilt XRC and roller failed on mine and it perfectly clears the Curt front hitch. I don't have any up-close photos but these might help.
  15. For those who have a manual JL

44k miles on mine and the clutch feel has only gotten better with time.
  16. What’s your magic caster number?

6.0 on mine and it solved all of my steering problems. After a 2.5" lift, I was at less than 3 degrees. Night and day improvement over stock.
  17. Honest Feedback Requested 6 Speed Manul

42k miles and zero problems other than an occasional squeaky clutch pedal. To echo others in this thread - I wish reverse was geared a bit lower. 5th and 6th are great for me, but I live in flat coastal TX.
  18. Steering Feels Loose and or Wander

Same here. All my wandering problems were solved by installing adjustable LCA's and setting caster at 6 degrees.
  19. Door Hinge chips

35k miles on my JLUS since May 18 and my rear door hinges look just as bad as yours. The last 20k miles have been with ICI Magnum side steps that have deflected a lot of the rocks. Now swapping for the OEM Mopar side steps to get better protection from rocks.
  20. Bright White grille turning yellow

18 JLUS delivered May 2018 here. Even in our intense sun in deep south TX, I really haven't noticed any yellowing of my grill or any other plastic body parts yet. They must have used inferior paint on some JL's?
