I'm begging to wonder if I'll get my 392 XR at all; with the cancellation of the Hemi for 2023, it's possible they won't be able to accumulate the parts to make the build.Contacted Jeep today and I am still a ways out to start production on a customer-sold-order with an open allocation and I have had a VIN for several months.
FYI - Ordered end of September with XR package.
I was going to buy a Manual Bronco, but the delays were so long on the roofs that I thought I should try the V8 Jeep for a year and then maybe take my slot for the Bronco. I kept my slot for the Bronco just in case.
Because I was going manual 4banger/Badlands with 33's..... I actually would have gotten my Bronco several months ago. All hindsight, as I had no idea the 392 order would take so long.
Looking back it is all about parts and options and things can change quickly when the supply chain is so restricted.....I am just happy to have an XR order in place and I am still very excited!!
Nobody knows, some have been built very quickly and some have taken 6months+I'm begging to wonder if I'll get my 392 XR at all; with the cancellation of the Hemi for 2023, it's possible they won't be able to accumulate the parts to make the build.
Does a dealer's allocation, or lack thereof, affect sold orders?
I'm starting to think I'll try and find a loaded V6 Rubicon and call it a day.
Build sheet comes after it is built and headed to inspection most times. It is weird, though. I haven't gotten a build sheet yet, and my Mopar owner's site account says my VIN isn't valid, yet when I gave my VIN to my insurance company, they were able to tell me all the options and pricing for it. Not sure how the insurance company (and my credit union) could show that the car exists even before a build sheet has been assigned.
I hope your luck rubs off on my order!I ordered towards the end of January, got a VIN second week of February, went into D1 in the beginning of March, and was told it would be invoiced to the dealer by March 19. I checked with Jeep Chat this morning, and they say that all they can see in their system is that it's ready to roll and all parts needed for assembly are there - but they couldn't confirm a build date. I'm just glad that all the parts are there and it's not waiting for anything.
As far as the build goes, it's a 392 XR, Sting Gray w/ black Mopar grille, front trail cam, towing package, trail rail system, floor mats, Gorilla glass, windshield tie-down, and just the standard top. My dealer said some of those options would likely slow things down, but it seems to be moving... He put a few orders in before mine, and one was a "special" for FCA VIPs, and mine is the only one that has been assigned a "done date".

I just got a photo from the Jeep dealership that my '22 392 XR has arrived! 68 Total Days from Order to Delivery.I ordered my 2022 392 XR on 1/07/2022 and the factory build & body shop build (XR package) was completed last week. Apparently, it is officially in the shipping process but my dealership hasn't been informed of an ETA. We are guessing 3-4 weeks out.
Wow, that is fast. Did your order have The XR package? Trailer Tow Package?Seems like Bay Area destined 392's are moving quick. Mine finished the build process a couple of days ago and is now finishing QA. They don't know how quick it will be delivered, but supposedly quite a few are headed for this zone so the wait time might be less than expected. Ordered on Jan 27, and build finished on March 15. Hopefully it doesn't sit in the shipping queue for a month....
I have no idea how they prioritize things... The car is fully loaded with just about everything I could imagine (XR package, tow group, Mopar headliner, trail cam, black satin grille, trail rail system, Gorilla Glass, windshield tie-down, floor mats, and Sing Gray paint). There are cars that the dealer ordered months before mine and they're still in "D" status - and some have moved back to "C". Mine seemed to scream along for no apparent reason - and my dealer even warned me that I was ordering too many options and the car might sit for six months waiting for parts.Wow, that is fast. Did your order have The XR package?
My order was placed 3 months earlier and I am still not in production.
