Stay at home dad to 2 munchkins, best job in the world!
I have a good feel for cars , I've had over 25 cars from mustangs , Range Rovers to Trucks , I mod race offroad test drive read all the time huge car enthusiasts, so that out of the way, my Jeep 392 drove much better power and shifting wise oem than it does with the 35s , it feels sluggish like it lost some HP and the shifting sometimes bothers me because during normal driving it's always a gear or two up and that causes the car to feel slower or struggling until speed gets higher, after the wheels and tires My jeep doesn't shift down as much as it needs to be in the correct gear , for example if I'm going about 40 it's already in 7th or 8th gear and when I accelerate normally instead of down shifting to like 4th it stays at 6th or 7th , that's where the oem felt great. So if you ask my advice definitely a 392 with anything bigger heaver than oem needs to re gear.
Have you tried driving it with the Off Road + button on?

Shift points change, engine maintains a higher RPM than without, and shifting is much more aggressive & faster.

At least worth a try if you haven’t already.

Off-road + on, then press and hold traction control button for 5 seconds to disable nannies that may decide you are giving it too much power! Enjoy. Also, 392’s are notorious for cam issues. MDS is a suspect factor, manual shift disables, when cruising at constant speed I tap it into manual shift to minimize 4cyl mode ?

Really happy with my XR's 4.56's and think 37's will be perfect when the time comes.
This is the main reason I opted for the XR package for the 392 I ordered and why I am sticking with 35s on my current JLUR
