So, nilight sent me a set of their wheel spacers. Initial thought is they are nice, good finish. Not sure if I want to use them though .

The directions call for torquing the spacers to the wheel @ 30 lbs. Seems odd to me as wheels are usually torqued @ 90 - 100 +/-. The directions call for torquing the wheels @ 85 / 90 lbs. No mention of loctite, I've heard some spacers recommend using blue loctite.

I should mention that I do moderate wheeling, but the spacers would primarily be for appearance.

Thoughts and opinions?

I personally would not use an “Amazon” import brand for something this critical. Nothing against spacers, I ran Bora spacers without issue and wouldn’t hesitate to put them back on if I ever switch back to my original wheels. I suspect my opinion will be in the majority. Good luck either way. Be safe!

BORA which is top notch says torq to factory specs which are 130 ft/lbs. they do say not to use locktite. I have checked mine 3X since installing and they have not ever taken even a spidgeon of torq. I would not trust Nilight nope nadda...

Spidertrax says torque to 130 ft/lbs also, but they recommend blue loctite. After using several Nilight wiring harnesses (foglights), I was impressed with them,
BUT !!!
after looking at BORA & Spidertrax and the cost difference,

I'm not taking a chance on a part that is this critical.

If I was guessing I'd guess the Chinese documentation was wrong, they meant 130 ft/lbs and printed 30 ft/lbs. But I am not a metallurgist, and not willing to risk the jeep, my passengers, or myself.

Thanks all...

Just ordered a set of Bora’s 1.75” spacers from Motorsport Tech. They called to confirm the order a said there was no need to use Loctite. Torque to 130ft/lbs and you’re good.
Will still retorque them after 100 miles or so to make sure.
