Flexibility is the key to fun vs frustration. I would have loved a day like that.
It was great actually, a nice adventure. No agenda except get the JL.

Left out a few things: Amtrack 1st class trip - high speed was 196 km/hr according to tacktastic (sailing app). See all the trains as I walk into Penn Station. Walk inside and see the restored old atrium (very cool). Walk outside to see the capital mall spread out in front of me. "Cooool. Hey, there's my Uber, gotta go". Ha ha

Other highlights: backroads all the way to Asheville (41 PSI in tires before I know better), New Belgium brewery and exactly one Voodo Ranger Juicy Haze. Roll into work the next day & park with the other JLs and JKs.

I do not think this was built for a concrete jungle. I know I wasn’t. Next stop is for fuel at the Canadian border.

2,619 miles later I made it home yesterday. It sure was hard not to stop and smell the off-road trails.
I found the onboard fuel economy calculator to be consistently over rating my MPG. Every tank was off. My overall economy has been 19.5mpg with >90% highway. I found that if I could keep under 60 and it was flat I could get up to 25MPG. At 70MPH it was about 17-18MPG and dropped quickly after that.
Overall I was very impressed with the ride quality and handling (on improved roads that is). Braking was excellent as I almost hit many deer, caribou, bison, moose and a lone black wolf. Deer were the worst. I’m pretty sure that last one got its first haircut by the bumper. They all seemed to want to come check out the new Jeep. It must be awesome that punk’n orange.
It took me an extra day because I had to stop driving at night. Even at 50mph I almost hit an entire caribou herd coming around a corner.

What did I do for a new Wrangler? Hmmm, I "convinced" my husband :angel:... Glad you're enjoying your road trip :like:
My wife's always trying to "convince" me to let her drive it.

A++ for effort though:blush:

What would I do? Forego all reason and common sense, ignore every rational instinct in me, give up discretionary spending on a few other hobbies, and many other things.

This is my first wrangler, i bought it out of state, waited 42 days for it, after owning one I dont see myself not having one for the rest of my life, it's so much fun and brings so much joy, makes driving any where an adventure and it can go any where!

Since my boys were born, i have no time for hobby. Now that they are old enough to go to school and nursery, i kept telling my friends and my wife that i need to find something to do on my off days.

I’ve been building up a case for second car for months. When i went to the dealer, it just hooked me in no time!

Its gonna take a small dent on my retirement planning but hey, u gotta enjoy life. (Always the best excuse)

We've been fortunate, my wife worked her tail off to get great pay as an engineer and I slogged along and get great pay as an engineer. Our stock savings accounts have multiplied many times over. We have 4 vehicles betweent the 2 of us. We are about to retire and I wanted a more serious backcountry hunting vehicle than the 2014 GMC CC 4x4 for my retirement days. I'm thinking about setting up the Jeep for flat towing behind the truck. Life is good. I am humbled more everyday that I live in America.
