My '21 Sport didn't have heated mirrors, my '22 Sport S does, but didn't realize it til I saw the icon on them. The button for my rear defrost is actually that same icon (see pic)

I run the rear defrost almost everytime I'm in the Jeep as I'm paranoid the wiring connector going to come unsoldered like so many others have and I want it to happen before my warranty is gone, hoping against hope they updated the attachment process. My warranty will be out in 14 months from purchase due to mileage.

Mine fell off a few months ago. No factory warranty. Fortunately, living where I live, rear window defrost and heated mirrors aren't needed. I would still like to have it fixed eventually, but not at the cost of an entire new rear window. Most of the solder solutions seem to only hold for days or weeks at most.

So your's fell off even tho you didn't use it?
I assumed it was due to a poor connection introducing some resistance at the joint that caused the connection to heat up enough to unsolder itself. Perhaps it is purely a mechanical issue?

I have a soft top, so no rear defrost. there's a button for our heated mirrors.
Really? I have a '22 soft top only and have the defrost button. It only does the mirrors but the button is the same as every other rear defroster...

see my post above. I guess I didn't realize that if you have a hard top they just wire that into the same button as well.

Cold solder joint? Improperly prepared for solder?

Turn your head sideways and then the button resembles the side mirrors instead of the rear window??
Both are sort of rectangles with wiggles for heat.

Is the wire harness and connector still back there for if you later buy a hard top?
Not that it matters to me - both of our Jeeps have hard drops - just curious.

You aren't following. I have a soft top. The button matches the icon on the mirrors. I didn't know that if I'd had a hard top it would be the same button that turns all 3 on. Symbol doesn't change.

Don't know. There are two connections to the rear window defrost. The one on the passenger side fell off. I am not going to try to turn it on to see if the heated mirrors work without the rear defrost being fixed, because it will probably throw a bunch of codes and do who knows what else. If anyone knows a solution that really works, I am all eyes and ears.

Fell off - or was yanked off when the window went up?
In this case, the wire is sooo tightly pulled, it's crushed the gasket and you can't even wiggle the wire. It's as tight as a guitar string - or tighter. It's actually almost limiting the amount the window can go up.
I'm going to bring it up to the dealership and see about repositioning the wire or pulling some slack for it from somewhere.
I mean there's so much pull on it, it's going to rip loose if that window flies up quickly or we push up on the window any.
You can see how hard it's pulling. Wires should have some slack for expansion and contraction of the copper in heat and cold. Heck, it's going to cut into the rubber seal -yes, it's that tight.

Wow, that is tight. Mine had slack in it. If I hold the wire to the solder spot, there is enough slack to avoid a situation like you photographed. You can probably pull that out yourself but if you are under warranty then best leave it to the dealer.

I had thought about doing it myself, but in case of "accident", I decided that the thing wasn't even 3 weeks old (to us, anyway) so it's their baby. then if that pops off while they work on it, it's on them.
No slack at all. Can't get a finger under it without risking popping it off the glass.
That's why I asked about yours. Hoping this is a one-off thing otherwise people are going to be having troubles.

Does anyone have a part number for the leprechaun?
No part number, but I did catch him before he went back in hiding under my hood. That stick is what he breaks your shit with.
