It is just that. There's only one, mounted to the left side to the glovebox. It is a support rail (don’t know official term)for the glove box. It limits the travel.
I can’t remember if it is on both sides or just one but if you look up how to change cabin filters…it will tell you everything you need to know.
Was that a slip of the tongue? It is just that. There's only one, mounted to the left side to the glovebox.
Was that a slip of the tongue?
haha nope, but thanks for pointing out the obvious :DWas that a slip of the tongue?
That right there is called LACK of QUALITY CONTROL! But, it is a Jeep so we actually come to expect it. CheersHelp please. My glovebox wouldn't shut, and when I removed it, this fell out of the area on the left side.

I suspect that that was me. On my JK I had the glovebox out dozens of times without shedding parts. Is this part a new feature on the JLs?I''m curious Rick @rickinAZ .. was something like an Aux switch or trailer wiring harness installed after the vehicle left its assembly in Toledo?
I ask because snaking the wires through the firewall grommet on the extreme passenger's side, or replacing air filters like Brad @BDinTX has smartly pointed out, often necessitates temporarily disconnecting this piece so the glove box can dropped sufficiently to gain access to the area behind it. I'm wondering if someone, once completing this task, forgot to reconnect this "glove box drop limiting stick."
Showed up with the model change…”let’s make everything a little nicer so we can charge a lot more“I suspect that that was me. On my JK I had the glovebox out dozens of times without shedding parts. Is this part a new feature on the JLs?
