What is this component on the front axle?

Hi all - this is leaking and it looks like a power steering component but I can’t find it on a diagram. What is it and cost to repair?

Front axle disconnect, you might be able to get away with just replacing the gasket

Yeah, but don't worry, they left the housing there so it can still be the breaking point.

They are not including FAD on 2024s. There is now a blanking plate where the mechanism used to be. Sadly, this does not mean they are now using a one piece axle shaft. Long discussion here:

FAD gasket is part # 68391562AA... It'll run you less than $20. Easy to change.
