What does this knob do?

Ya'll are all joking around, but can we take a minute to appreciate the ingenuity and cleanliness of that install?

such a discrete place to install a knob, and it looks *almost* factory in there.

I thought surely it was factory. I couldn’t find any mention of it in the owner’s manual. I appreciate all of the responses though I’m going with the subwoofer suggestion
