Greetings 2024 4xe owners!

For those of you that got a trim that comes with the power box, I'm curious what you've been using it for (if anything). It seems like a cool item but I'm curious about what people's real-world use is like.

So, what have you all been doing with your power boxes?

I live in hurricane country. Anyone who has the risk of losing power can use the powerbox + jeep engine as a generator to keep some lights, fridge, etc. running during a power outage.

If you like camping it's handy for a fridge, lights, etc. Can possibly power a small AC unit for summer camping, or your trailer.

and any tradesman on a job site that doesn't have electricity is another obvious application. Run your power tools, charge your batteries, etc.

If you have a band or you are a DJ and want to set up a PA for an outdoor concert.

I’m hoping to use it to power my RV LED lights and 12 V refrigerator only. However when I hooked it up to my surge protector, the surge protector would not activate because the ground light came on. Obviously there’s no earth ground but I would think the chassis ground would be sufficient to satisfy the RV surge protector. Has anyone else tried this yet?

I suspect that this is because of a couple different safety systems conflicting with each other. This also happens regularly when trying to charge from a GFCI outlet. The Jeep and/or EVSE tests for voltage between neutral and ground, and this trips the GFCI breaker.

I'd suggest bypassing the RV surge protector when plugging into the power box.

I used mine to power starlink and other equipment on a 4 day trip to the PA mountains. It works really well except that it will shut itself off if there is not enough load, it needs an 'anyways on' mode as if there is a light load on it it'll shut itself off. It needed 200 Watts of draw or so to stay on for me.
