Power box on 4xe

They did this to us on the '21s with the "tire fill alert" feature. It was standard on rubicons when I ordered, when it was delivered, no tire fill alert horn feature. The fine print says the features and options are subject to change at any time. Not a make or break feature for us but it was a bit sad to realize a feature was deleted with no communication because of (what I'm assuming was) prioritizing chips. I'm just happy it wasn't the heated seats. The Power Box being deleted without any comms is pretty bad since they made such a big deal about it and it represents a pretty substantial functional feature that was a primary factor in some people's '24 4xe decision making.

I'd definitely pay the price of a nice generator to retrofit my 22. Of course that will never happen. I bet someone figures out how to add it to other 4xe's, but it's gonna be way out of the price range I'm willing to spend.

If that was their plan though they still botched it by having shit communication. I'd have paid extra for the option on the Willys if it were available, or I might have just ordered the Rubicon in the first place.

I’m honestly so perturbed. Make sure your jeep is built with the capability to support it so you can purchase it. Id rather buy it now, and have them send it to me within a set time

Welp, the Willys I ordered in June finally came in last week and I checked it out today. My salesman grabbed a power box from a HA and we walked around the lot testing it on different models. The results:

-The Willys I ordered: didn't work
-Sahara w/power box delete: didn't work
-HA that came with power box: worked
-HA that didn't come with power box but didn't have delete listed: worked

They didn't have any Rubicons or Saharas w/o the delete to test it on.

Strangely enough, the Willys I ordered didn't even have a hybrid tab in uConnect and all the other ones did, so they're gonna look into that when their 4xe guy is in on Monday and see if addressing that changes the power box behavior (I'm not holding my breath). If not then I'm gonna scrub the deal and either a) order a Rubicon (while hoping they don't delete the power box from that too) or b) see if there's a Rubicon with the options I want already built (so I can definitely confirm the power box works and get it sooner...probably hard to find a dual top on the lot and will have to buy the soft top separately though).

What a pain in the ass.

An even worse part is that even if we ordered a Sahara, we may not get the box because of supply problems. We should have been put on a waiting list to get it when supply resumed. I'm getting a Sahara and I won't be getting it or the option to get it in the future. The dealership didn't make this clear when I ordered it and I am SOL now because it is already built. Now, I haven't taken actual ownership yet, that is going to happen in a week or two, but I'd have to cancel the order and reorder at this point. And, Jeep Cares, keeps pushing me back to the dealership. It's just a sucky place that Jeep has put us in at this point.

Well I just picked up a 24 Rubicon X and the power box is clearly on my window sticker. I also have a soft case that clearly shows how to put the power box in it.
Of course no one at the dealership has any clue about what even the power box is but I have the GM supposedly looking into it. We shall see.
