Lately ? all the time or it is just me the issue lol.
What is bothering me is the peoples that make sure not to look at you and engage right away when it should be you. As a any good driver you make sure that the other party did see you.....
When I was teaching my Son to drive I drilled in the concept of dont be in the way and be predictable.

Indeed, around here we use, drive for the other.
One day I was at the light, the light turned green, did not move.
My passenger tell me: hey it is green.
I replay: ya that guy is not planning to stop.
Yup he ran the red light right in front of me.
When we say karma is a B, cops where arriving at the light at the same time and saw the entire scene.

I just expect everyone to drive like Stevie Wonder that’s late for work and when they don’t I’m pleasantly surprised.

With the increase of red light runners who seem to come through the intersection later and later, I’m not eager to go on a green light without looking both ways.

We were taught to coast thru intersections with the brake covered.

I am pretty aware, that is why of all the years driving... but new to VA and WV drivers. Just my first year, none of the odd interactions. Now its like they suddenly think I am a Sate Police Jeep. Barely get a cars length in front as to pass then fall back casually and stay.

I have had 5 instances through the last 2 months, having drivers speeding up from a 1/4 mile back to pass casually and slow down only to fall back. Some seem sneaky and some seem they are off to get somewhere but suddenly remembered its not important. Go figure?
Several times in the past few years have fellow Wrangler owners slowed in the adjacent* lane to briefly pace me, their front bumpers aligned with my rear bumper.

After perhaps 30 seconds, they'll speed up and continue on their way.

My theory, and that's all it is, is that they're eyeballing my flush-mount taillights. Mine is the only Jeep that I've ever seen with them.

-------------

*I'd say passing lane, but there's too many slowpokes to allow the use of the proper name.

...and the gas covered too, I've avoided a few accidents by punching it at just the right time, where as braking would've guaranteed getting drilled by an idiot lol.

Off topic, but is your avatar CA finally breaking off the west coast, floating away, and sinking into the ocean’s abyss?
Probably, this place is a ****hole compared to when I was a kid, used to be a great place to live. :/

The one that I just don't understand is when stopping at a red light, the first thing people do is pick up the F***ing phone!!! It's a car (JEEP) not a phone booth jackass!!!

Speaking from experience its a game of chicken. If you *pretend* not to see the other driver they'll often yield.

I'm well aware, all fun and game until you really get some one who did not see you...

It's the center gatefold art of the album Close To The Edge by the band YES.
Considered one of the best progressive rock albums in history and came out in 1972.🎶🎵
The artist is Roger Dean.

We were on one of those hop on hop off bus tours in Ireland when a car started just merging over in stop and go traffic. The driver over the bus intercom "Oh were gonna play a game of "Whos insurance is better" today are we". The car ended up backing down.
