I know Xmas shoppers can be a problem on the road, but lately this issue has had me scratching my head as to think there is something wrong.

I have had 5 instances through the last 2 months, having drivers speeding up from a 1/4 mile back to pass casually and slow down only to fall back. Some seem sneaky and some seem they are off to get somewhere but suddenly remembered its not important. Go figure?

In recent years, we've probably all encountered drivers with their heads stuffed into their cell phones instead of driving.

Multitasking is a myth.

Around here the weird happens when the stop light changes from red to green. Drivers creep toward at 2 mph slowly getting up to speed. Or they just take forever to get off their phone and go. It’s annoying.

vehicles with lidar where it uses the car in front of them to set a distance with regards to cruise control etc can exhibit that behaviour

Actually it don't matter about distance detection. older models mostly. The latest a JK. Dodge RAM, a Challenger, a Charger, and a Subaru.

I'd say it's mostly cell phone usage. Everytime this happens here, I've seen people on their phones. Just this morning this lady was going 55, then 70, then 50, back to 70.... I pass her to see her head is down and the car is lit up from her phone.

Another time this guy was watching youtube or tiktok or something.

I would guess that most driving issues today are from distractions.

How to you come to the conclusion that “some seem sneaky” ? You have a few interesting driver interaction threads here. Just sayin’ 🤷

If everyone around you is an asshole then maybe you're the asshole.

Lately ? all the time or it is just me the issue lol.
What is bothering me is the peoples that make sure not to look at you and engage right away when it should be you. As a any good driver you make sure that the other party did see you.....
