I don’t know, the tariff situation is pretty volatile right now, tariffs get imposed and then deals are made and the tariff is reduced/eliminated. Could backfire on domestic manufacturing if they were seen as price gougers. I do know tariffs have brought in billions of dollars into the Treasury.

We pay them, so it's like a tax increase.

Tariffs could influence a number of things including other supplies or services used to manufacture here in the USA. Also, never mind that inflation is on the rise here and other costs have gone up exponentially including healthcare, which WT probably provides as an employee benefit. They use computers, microchips, phones, robots, shipping supplies (paper from Canada, anyone?).

It’s really anyone’s guess, but, the price is what it is, and people are still paying it.

WT is good stuff. I’ve bought from them but don’t need anything from them right now so haven’t checked in on their prices in a while.

The tariffs are new, kinda. The COVID was the big ratchet up in price.

Over the past few years a lot of things have gone up in price. Well. Maybe everything has gone up. Just need to decide if it is worth the price to buy it.

Do you pay $200 for something you remember buying a few years ago for $100? Maybe. I suppose it depends.

If I told my historical self what I just paid for my Willy’s, he would have laughed at me. But in today’s world I thought it was an ok deal.

Things are very situational right now

I said that because some companies should be saying "Assembled in the USA" I prefer US sourced products. Sometimes it's not possible. Even our beloved Jeep is sourced from many places and is "Assembled in the USA". Maybe.

If I see something has increased in price THAT much, I just don't buy it. That's the attitude we really need to take...this is our job as consumers - we are supposed to be policing corporations by being selective - not just paying whatever they ask for that shiny thing we want because they've convinced us through clever marketing that we need it. It's our failure to do that that has allowed prices to climb as much as they have over the last 5 years.

The fried ice cream at my favorite Mexican restaurant went from $5 (2021) to $10.95 (Current). Sometimes I forego the queso. But, I leave not fully satisfied.

I tried that with food and healthcare and it almost didn't end well.

And now coffee and chocolate have skyrocketed in price. Fuck. What fresh hell are we living in?

I paid $37, I just paid $92.
Where did you find them for $80?
I'll cancel my current order.

On their website. If your quote is from Amazon, it's higher to cover shipping. Where did you get them for $37? My price 3 years ago was $50.

Plus gas prices. I refuse to drive anywhere because I’m convinced my act of defiance will put an end to high gas prices. I‘m sure inflation, and increased operating, labor, and materials costs are not a factor. Straight up corporate greed.

Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular...

I paid $79.95 plus shipping on 12/12/24.

So, there's been no price increase in nearly 10 months. To date, tariffs have had no impact on Weathertech flap MSRP.
