Something wrong here. I’ve driven diesel vehicles for decades (currently a Ram EcoD and a VW Touareg) and have not had this type issue occur, ever. Fuel filters are changed per owners manual but that’s it. I’d say either (a) bad fuel or (b) bad sensor. With no more miles than your vehicle has on it, my money’s on a bad sensor.

You could be right (I'm betting on bad fuel), but the remedy was straightforward, Jeep provided an easily accessible petcock, and there were DIY how-to videos on YouTube. I suggest that Ecodiesel members buy a length of 5/16" (ID) tubing to be prepared. And...if it's a bad sensor, it's gone into hibernation - so no worries - for now.

I plan on draining at least every oil change.
