I'm pretty sure they'd need evidence that what you did caused the failure.
Evidence sufficient to convince who though? The bar for them to convince themselves can be quite low... Until you make it to court, bring in experts etc there is no entity that will reverse their judgement (arbitrary or not) on whether part X was related to the failure of part Y and enforce it.

The technique I use is, “show me”. “Show me how my Tazer caused the seal in the water pump to fail”. “Show me how the addition of a winch caused my pinion to lose preload”. “Show me how deleting the auxiliary battery caused the fuel pump to fail”. Bullshit takes more than just a bull and shovel.

This is why I won't buy an extended warranty. The sales department will bend over backwards to get you to buy their or Mopar's extended warranty. The service department will bend over backwards to void those same warranties. YMMV.

And yet the Tazer's fingers are into a crapload of areas.

Show me how an unmarried Tazer can cause random electrical issues throughout the Jeep, including the dash. I didn't think it was the Tazer until I took it out and all of those issues went with it.

Can you give some examples, and were the problems continuous or intermittent? Just curious.

Tapping in to the CANBUS can cause conflict of address issues so it is plausible a defective OBDC device can alter inter-PCM communication. If the dealer shows me their logic by disconnecting a device and active codes clear or active failure indicators disappear, that satisfies my “show me”. It’s when the dealer tries to suggest your Oracle halos cause your non-warrantable death wobble is when “show me” is all but mandatory.

Loss of comms with power steering control module. Software update to tazer, problem solved.

My dash would periodically randomly glitch. Nothing specific and definitely not continuous. Just once every day or so.
