Hey everybody,

been a busy day installing the Smittybilt XRC 9.5 using the Warn mounting kit.

I won’t lie, it kinda whipped my ass lol. I used to work on my vehicles all the time, but it’s been quite some time so I’m a little rusty.

couple of questions:
  1. When replacing the bumper (oem steel) I forgot the spacer on the passenger side. It must’ve fallen off while I was positioning and didn’t notice — Should I remove the bumper and put the spacer in place? I’m not sure how important it is
  2. The fair lead cover is basically impossible to attach with the bumper on — any suggestions?
  3. the instructions (and all the YouTube videos) didn’t mention how to install the cable. Should I have done this before replacing the bumper?
  4. My wiring that came with it is too short to reach the battery. I have the EcoDiesel so the battery is way in the back of the bay. I was thinking about getting the power interrupt kit anyway, so that would help with this?

1. What spacer are you referring to? Was there a spacer between your frame and bumper? Do you mean washer?
2. Can you remove the sway bar disconnect skid and reach up from there?
3. I have a Smittybilt too and ran the power cables under the grill and up along the radiator behind the wheel well up to the battery. My 3.6L battery is also back by the firewall. I had just enough cable.
4. Yes, you should install a cutoff or kill switch. You'll need to purchase smaller same gauge cables from the switch to the battery though.

the spacer is essentially a washer for the two outside bolts where it attaches to the frame.
I’ve got the skid plate taken off and I still can’t get my damn hand in there… I might just remove the bumper again tomorrow and fix my mistakes. I hate half-assing something

I was just hoping my mistakes weren’t very big mistakes so I wouldn’t have to go redo the entire process over again

Oh, the "L" shaped bracket?

Yes, sometimes its better to start over than try to fix what you've forgotten. Best of luck.
