Warn Vr8s install

So I went with the Warn VR8 synthetic. Super stoked I went with the steel bumper upgrade. The winch and the warn mounting plate paired up nicely. Install tip for those of you interested. Hand tighten everything then torque things down so you have room to massage the mountain holes and brackets. I added a Maximus 3 plate with hooks in red which gives me a good spot to anchor the winch hook and matches the factory Trim.

I added a rightline gear bag attached to the rear roll cage to hold the tow strap, winch controller and other odds and ends. The bag is inexpensive and top notch, I will likely get another one.

How are you finding the VR8S? Enough pulling power? I was considering this, or the VR10S, or the Smittybilt 9.5.

On my two door it’s great. I personally didn’t consider the vr10 simply because I don’t plan on overloading my Jeep. Most overland trips it will only be me and maybe a passenger and I’m not doing the roof top tent thing.

I don’t own any smitty built stuff but I have a friend who has an older synthetic one. I did notice that his hook was locked in with a metal crimp so not something that can be swapped out very easily.

Bought this exact setup for my 2 dr Rubicon(which I dont have yet haha). Can you confirm the warm part numbers. Is the winch warn 98605 and the warn winch plate 101255. Thanks a lot. Looks great.

My order from quadratec said 96805 and 101255. I’m assuming your winch number above might just be a typo? If so you should be good to go.

How long from start to finish did it take?

A couple hours max. And most of that was figuring everything out. I did use air tools which made things go pretty quick.
