Is this winch big enough for a JLU? I have this on my JKU and its just about big enough. Anyone running one of these guys on a 4door?

It's probably adequate, and you'll want a snatch block to double back the winch line when it's not enough.

But the M8000 is a solid dependable winch.

I had one on my JKUR from new in 2014. It is a great dependable winch. It is small and powerful. Easily enough for a JLU.

But you will get a lot of different opinions shortly

Thanks. I dont get into too gnarly terrain. Its basically for getting out of ditches and crap when overlanding/camping trips.

You only have 60% the pulling power on the outer most wrap. It's got the same motor as the 12K, the 12K has lower gears. I wouldn't get anything less than 12K. Many winch failures are due to overload or exceeding duty cycle. Only my 12K Warn platinum tells me I've exceeded the duty cycle (which I've never come close) It also tells me when the voltage is too low. My other two Rubicons sport 12K SuperWinches, I didn't want to shell out the coin for 12K platinums.

Even with my 12K winches, I almost always use a snatch ring to almost double the pulling power and get an extra anchor for free.
