Be totally honest.

They ask pretty specific questions about damage. They rely on you to be totally honest. They can nullify the contract-deal if they determin there is damaged you were not truthful about. I think I remember there was language in the contract about charging back fees for pick up or something also?
In addition, I bet they are extremely proficient with lipstick.

let’s say, I have a jeep, that’s spotless never had a single scratch on the paint and everything works. But it has been lifted 4 inches out on 40s and been to Moab and rubicon 10x and returned to stock conditions with nothing missing. It never been to body shop but every undercarriage nuts has been touched…..I don’t recall any question regarding its pass history?

In our case, when the driver picked the Jeep up he did a pretty thorough walk-around with a clipboard. The form he was using was a detailed list of any and all issues (there were none!) but he did not look underneath, or open the hood. He did look at the interior though. Judging by the photos they have on their website they did a pretty good job of detailing the vehicle though - the interior, exterior, and engine bay are immaculate. They noted 3 extremely minor scratches on the body that are almost invisible.

The driver Vroom hired to pick up did a walk around and took a bunch of pictures of the exterior and interior. He noted no damage and had me electronically sign a confirmation with the same device he took pics with. He said the car is inspected again after drop-off at the intake facility. In my case my JLR was taken to a Mannheim Auction facility. I got a call from my driver telling me he dropped off the vehicle safely and to start the process for my check. I got a check the next morning at 8am via FedEx.

It looked like mine was detailed really well for the pics also.

Do I have to leave the forums now until I pick my new one up at Mark Dodge? Now that the money is in the bank, I still can't believe my 2020 with 15k miles, with a sticker of $50,250 that I got 11% off and paid $44,700 for sold to Vroom for $49,500. Then I get a new one for 10/11% off again. I managed to borrow a car, but even if I had bought one for $4k and sold it when the new Jeep was ready, seems like a good idea.

I had a hiccup with Vroom, but that is because I didn't sign the Title when I FedExed it to them. So my paper work sat on someone's desk for a while Wish I had called sooner, but after 8 days, I called and then they came and got it the next day, money was in the bank the following day. I was worried they were going to say something about the crack in the windshield or a small burn in the rear carpet, but the money is in the bank! Now to wait.

Sounds almost identical to me. Bought my '21 for ~10.5% off sticker. Just sold it to Carvana for $5K more than I paid. Bought a '22 for ~11% off sticker. So I'll end up with a $45K Wrangler for $34.5K.

Enjoy tho, this is the only time in our lifetime we will have the opportunity to do this. ?

Haha, that's what I'm saying too. I had ordered my previous one, but then Covid happened and I didnt want the janitors building my Jeep, so I took a cheaper one off the lot thinking I could add the options later. Now I get to order all the options I had originally wanted plus the XR package.

Well my 21 is a stripper, the 22 I just added the S package for the locks/windows, doors off mirror kit and dual tops, so nothing extravagant obviously at only $45K MSRP

Considering the average depreciation on a JLU over 5 years is 10.5%, we should have positive equity for many years to come.

My plan is to buy the second year of the new design, what 2029 or 2030.

My experience with Vroom was not positive, but that was purchasing, not selling. I think selling to them is probably fine, but I don't suggest buying from them. I won't go into the details, but it was a nightmare.

We bought ours from Vroom, very smooth process, with no hiccups.

We sold a 2016 CRV to Carvana in early Dec. It was a great experience. We got more for it than multiple local dealers The guy had a checklist that he completed, drive it down the road. Said he had to increment the odometer at least a tenth of a mile. He returned, took lots of pictures. Before loading i on the hauler. Never looked under the hood.

Wanted to give folks a quick update. I accepted the sales offer from Vroom on 1/15. Vroom picked the car up on 2/3. Terrible communication relating to the pickup process and pretty slow.

It seems like they processed the transaction for payment on 2/4 which is very timely, but they never gave me the option to wire/transfer the funds.

I've sold two cars to Carvana before & both of those transactions were much smoother.

On a positive note, I contacted Carvana at the end of January for another quote realizing I'd have to get the title back from Vroom. Their offer was $2k less than the offer I accepted from Vroom. On 1/15, Carvana was only $1k less than Vroom. So I can't complain about the final result assuming the check actually arrives.

One last update on Vroom in case someone plans on using them. Here's the timeline summary. And I had numerous calls with Vroom supervisors due to their delays. One finally admitted that my experience with Vroom is typical. The rep says they are simply understaffed.

Jan 15 - offer accepted
Feb 3 - car picked up
Feb 11 - check received
Feb 15 - funds available at bank
