Back trying to track down some vibes:

2018 JLU. 2.5 lift and 35s. Upgraded the front drive shaft and added wheel centering rings.

feel vibration/clicking (primarily on floor board) when taking foot off the gas pedal. Stops immediately when reaccelerating. Worse when going downhill and the gearing is helping to slow the vehicle, and at higher altitude when the engine labors a bit.

Didn’t have it Re-geared after the lift, thinking it may be related?

thank you in advance for your thoughts!

I had something somewhat similar on my 2013 JK Rubicon 2-door, with a 2” Mopar lift and 35” MT tires.

When I decelerated, the front-end vibrated and rattled. Worse, when I stomped on the brakes on uneven surfaces, the steering wheel pulled left and right.

I took my Jeep to the dealership. My Jeep dealer at the time was super cool. They identified that the factory steering parts were constantly battling those heavy tires. Turns out, my tire and wheel combo weighed 110 lbs each, vs the standard 65 lbs.; by 13,000 miles the added weight and contact patch had completely worn out the factory steering components. The service manager said “I could put a new steering damper, drag link and tie rod under warranty, but you will be in the exact same position in 10,000 miles. If you want to keep your current setup, best would be to put on some beefier aftermarket parts.”

I did my research, and ordered a YETI drag link and tie rod, and a Fox steering damper. The dealer even offered to do the labor at a competitive rate.

That was the end of the vibration and the rattling. Not only that, that 2-door JK always had handled quite squirrelly; the new steering components even made it track much more linear at speed.

Hope that helps.
