So my Subaru with 170k on has an issue with the car transmission....from what I can research this is going to cost 7-9k! OUCH! Not interested in putting that into the car. I am dumb for looking at used jeeps? I commute 50 miles round trip but absolutely love my 2020 Rubicon. Owning two jeep jl's is that crazy?

Not dumb to me. If you see something you like and hesitate it may not be available later.

Its just like anyone owning two trucks or two sports cars. Get what you like and have fun. Build them up a bit differently so one is more daily driver and equip one for more serious offroading. Just a thought.

For years there were two Wranglers in my garage: a Sahara 4-door with a rear TrueTrac for winter and family trips, and a Rubicon 2-door to play on the trails. It worked like a charm.

Now that I work from home I don’t need two Jeeps any more. But I can see others owning two different Wranglers for different uses.

Good luck.

I think it’s crazy. Who the hell wants to stack road miles on a wrangler.

Wrangler is a heavily compromised vehicle that can do some awesome and unique things, but if you’re not doing those awesome things, there are so many better vehicles.

Personally I think there is only one reason to own two wranglers.

1)A JL as a convertible SUV for daily life.
2)And an older wrangler built just for off-roading, one where a mosquito bite bothers you more than getting a scratch on the car.

My commute is 57 a day and I wouldn't have it any other way than in my JLR! Smiles per mile:)

We have 2. My wife drives a '20 JLUSS and I drive a '21 JLUSS (our daughter also has one, a '22 JLW). Not our only vehicles, but they are our daily drivers. I do wheel mine, though the wife does not. We also have 2 other older vehicles we could drive if need be. I do drive my old Ranger to work (84 miles round trip, 6 days a week) at least once a week (usually twice a week), to keep it up and to keep a few miles off my Wrangler. I see no problem having 2.

I wouldn't buy another Jeep for a DD but thats subjective. I'd probably grab a nice volvo or audi suv thats stupid comfortable and easy on the highway. Hell, I've thuoght of buying a subaru.

With that said,my Jeeps a perfectly fine DD. I don't feel the need to own two cars anymore.

I'm in a 2 wrangler household with 3 kids. Those are the only vehicles. Assuming you do decide to go ahead with the 2nd one, my main piece of advice would be to seriously consider a new one rather than used. Unless the used car market has already dropped due to interest rates. (I haven't checked lately.) But otherwise, for quite a while now it has been possible to get a new Jeep for as much or even cheaper than what used ones were going for.
