Does anyone else find that the USB C is not fast charging? 2 different JLs now (2018 and 2024) and both are very slow to charge my Samsung Galaxy phone.

Well, if I go off images others have posted, it looks like a usb mini is plugged in behind there. Maybe it’s just bit capable due to they way jeep made it?

Ahh, so not a true C from the source which would then not allow the higher amperage typically reserved for the type C. Boo ?

So the center stack USB port is a hub, and has a connector that goes to the one in the center console. A bunch of folks have issues with the center console USBs that I've read it's due to really shitty wiring used.

I disconnected the plug in the back (Standard USB Type-B) and then use an adapter to add my AAWiresless adapter into the glove box. Downside is it disconnects the center USB but they just cause issues. BTW doing this resolved ALL of my stability issues with disconnects/etc. Link below

Just FYI when you open it there are two identical plugs, one is gray and one is white I believe. I do not recall which one is the jumper to the center console and which is the main one - may have to have some trial and error to confirm!

Over the holidays I'll be adding a charge only port on the inside (and backside of the center console) so I don't have to worry about passengers throwing off my AA by plugging in an iPhone.

@cgagnon99

I have an AAWireless dongle plugged into the USB port inside the center console and it I experience no issues at all with the dongle.

As for your passenger(s) issue.. Just have them use a port that is a power only port... or have a power only USB cable for them to power their smartphone with.

Your posts are what drove me to the AAWireless! I think my center console issues are hardware related on the Jeep side, not the AAWireless dongle.

And since I don't have a Sahara I don't have a port on the back of the console - going to kill multiple birds with one stone

My center console port didn't work with CarPlay. I put a wireless CarPlay module in there about a year ago and have never had a problem since. Even works with my onX and GAIA maps.
Interesting, are you saying wired CarPlay didn’t work with your phone, but wired CarPlay to the module works no problem?

I have a ‘24 and the wired center console CarPlay connection is pretty spotty.

Correct. I had my iPhone plugged in to the usb port in the center console. It was hit and miss whether or not it would work. Most of the time it didn't. Someone told me to try a wireless CarPlay module. I plugged one in to the console port over a year ago and have had no problems with it since. It even works with my onX maps.

My Samsung S23 USB-C only charges for a few minutes on the front console USB-C port then it stops. I've tried changing cords, cleaning the port on the console as well as the phone. This only happens in my JL..it doesn't happen elsewhere. I am on USA-ASO-8.4-QR-40.12.0.20220930-QSFRM. The Uconnect website claims my VIN is up to date. How can I verify if this is true ?

What all was replaced? The wiring between the head unit and the center console?
I believe it was the entire unit, as the replacement screen had "burnt in image" that I could see where mine didn't. They told me it was a rebuild.

Sorry I don't have more information than that
