Velocity takes it to 415bhp, which is still on the very safe side for the 3.0 (and Jag also made a 400bhp edition of the F).

That said, my previous Rubi (JK model) had the 2.8 CRD (tuned to 230bhp and 510nm), the only engine available here back then. If I were to off-road more, I would have gone with the current 2.2 diesel (torque), but went for the 2.0T. With 272bhp, you are faster with a brick on wheels than the average traffic. As for reliability I can't add much value, as mine is still pretty new, but so far these engines seem to behave pretty well. I will not tune this one - 272bhp is way enough for this kind of vehicle :)

Hi
Do Jeep monitor this forum themselves?
If so, (or if anyone else can provide answers) as a potential UK customer I’d like to ask if there is a reason the US Rubicon bonnet (hood) has different shape and plastic inserts to that of the UK Rubicon?
I prefer the US one.

also, can someone provide clarity if the US steel bumper has yet been EU homologated so that we can order and use that instead of the ugly plastic version that is currently on the UK Rubicon models.

final question is if there are any plans to bring the v6 option to UK?

many thanks
Isn't the only difference in the hood is there is a little dip in the front where the UK center raised section flows to the front if the hood?

Don't you folks have an alloy hood, whereas we have a steel one (besides the other differences)?

It’s not a deal breaker, just wondered why the difference?

as mentioned, I really like the rubicon, a lot. Just checking detail to see what else is different from the full-fat US version.

Probably some obscure EU regulation. Don't you have all kinds of limitations there like tire size?

Not sure about tyre size regulation but I DO know there is a legislation about the curvature of cucumbers - seriously!

Thought I saw a post from someone in Germany a while back about limits on how tall and wide a tire can be. Your Rubicons come with 32" right vs our 33" ? And how much is shipping cost from the factory?

I actually prefer the UK version with the power bulge and the square vents. I believe I watched a video where they described it as some pedestrian collision compliance or something.

If you put a nice vinyl wrap on the bulge you can make the hood look awesome.

you better move to the US , the EU is ridiculously over regulated just like California [ I think that state is still part of the Union] , the way all these red and green social movements are taking power away from us commoners I do see bicycle and human powered rickshaw as the future if we will survive all the indoctrinated Gretas

Great engine the v6. The tune you had would’ve taken it up to 400bhp or so wouldn’t it? I had a v6s (380bhp) before I went to the v8r. Sound wise they’re both up there with some of the best sounding cars of today.
When I saw the rubicon the other day it pulled on my heart strings like the f type did. But in that it’s a big, chunky, capable machine, and a great toy. It’s certainly a head turner.

which engine did you go for with your jeep? Has it been reliable? I’m leaning towards the 2.0 petrol if no V6 available in UK.
Are you all allowed to import vehicles from Australia? We have the RHD Rubicon, steel bumpers and all and we only have the 3.6 V6 for a petrol option.

It’s a good shout, however I think I’m coming round to the 2.0 version having watched a lot of reviews and YouTube footage. The hood is not a deal breaker and I do like what I saw in the flesh the other day at the dealer but just wondered why UK had to have different.
The front bumper issue does annoy me. We don’t seem to be paying any less for the UK version yet we’re stuck with that bumper instead of the fit for purpose/better looking steel bumper with no dealer option to change due to parking sensors.

Jeep, sort it out. You are making all kinds of accessories with dealer fit options. Surely the factory can provide genuine bumper option with holes for parking sensors available for UK customers without going eBay route.

The 2L is good on paper but you have to ask yourself why the Gladiator which is made for carrying and towing more comes only with the V6.

The difference in the hood is because the US hood is aluminium and the AU (and likely UK) ones are steel.

For the parking sensors, just drill some holes in the steel bumper or get the ebay one but I think the ebay one is much heavier. If you want another stamped steel bumper, have a look:
