I noticed that map updates are included over the air with a Jeep Connect Plus subscription. Why not just subscribe for a few months and let it update? Cheaper than buying the update for $149 / $99.

This is free and basically just forces the entire North American base map to update immediately, while still having the ability for the OTA updates to occur as needed. OTA will typically only update your current area or region, and not the entire map.

Note that this is unique to Uconnect5 powered by TomTom, and does not apply to Uconnect4 w/HERE.

It's legit straight from Stellantis for all their global brands utilizing TomTom maps.

This is great news! I was going to subscribe for a month to get the update. I know I don't get the live traffic, etc, but having an updated map is great.

Does it matter which USB port I put the drive in? Should the Jeep been in Run, Acc or running?

USB1 is what I use, and engine running to prevent the system from timing out. Takes about 30-45 minutes so I'll typically do it while driving somewhere.

Oh - So you can drive during the update? I just updated mine but thought it has to be in Park.
