UConnect5 - Navigation Map Updates

I am fairly new to the Jeep family and have a question regarding navigation map updates. Per the manual, the updates should happen after the vehicle is powered off and connected to a secure wifi. In my case, when I turn the car off, the screen alerts me to a map update and asks if I want to proceed, after selecting yes, it asks to connect to secure wifi connection, of which the vehicle is so I select it. I then exit the vehicle, only to come back hours later to a screen message stating the maps did not download/install and will attempt again when I power off the vehicle. I have contacted Uconnect technical support but they have not been able to fix.

Anyone had this issue and how did you fix it?

I had to take mine to the dealer and have it done. It never could connect to my home wifi.

V2025.09 released a few weeks ago, and are updated quarterly.

You will need a 32GB USB thumb drive formatted to NTFS with no folders.

It says it takes up to an hour and the radio has to stay on. Do you do it while you drive or just move the key to run and let it sit for an hour?

My issue is the maps should download wirelessly, and then install automatically. This has to happen while the vehicle is powered off per the user manual notes. See pictures from UConnect 5.

The maps are not downloading, as I pointed out above, when I return to the vehicle I receive a message stating the maps did not download/install and will attempt again when I power off the vehicle.

It seems some of you are responding to updating the maps via USB stick. That is not the issue here.

Believe it or not there are many areas with zero cell service.
I’m a big believer in redundancy, especially when I’m out in the boondocks.

All too real in Big Bend National Park.

I use mine quite a bit. The upload worked flawlessly as I drove. I haven't noticed any difference on the map in the places I drive but most places were already on there. I'm hoping some off-road tracks have been added though.
