I figured I'd chimes in here..new sahara only 2400 mi..my screen has frozen up a few times..Android auto doesn't connect sometimes I use Samsung s22 phone.but I know its not the phone I shut off radio while driving hold down volume button let screen go blank it helps sometimes..question is I found in settings. Systems update..should I click on that or is the horrible u5 connect supposed to update itself periodically? What would dealer do for me?
Literally nothing. They can replace the radio but the new one may suffer from the same issues. The new radio suffers from widespread software defects affecting the entire Uconnect 5 line up. I have 2 2024s JLs and both do all kinds of weird shit from time to time, it is what it is unfortunately.

Unfortunately nothing positive to add. Every once in a while my phone won’t connect, no car play no Bluetooth. I’ll have to shut the vehicle and phone down completely and it usually does the trick. Occasionally I was getting this message, it seems to have gone away since I re-connected it to my personal hotspot on my phone. 🤞🏻🤞🏻. U connect is pretty terrible, Ive had jeeps for 20 yrs. I also have an Audi Q5 and what ever interface it uses is worse. Phones and cars have always been an issue.

I have a 2024 JLU and been experiencing screen freezes. It seemed to start when the free WiFi ran out. My Jeep did a forced update a few weeks ago and the problem still remains I thought the Apple update would help but it didn’t. I’m ready to have Sirius do a reset to see if that helps.

The uconnect systems are always glitching. Both our 2024 JLU and 2022 Ram. The Ram was totally locking up a couple of months ago again and the dealership said they were told by STLA to not work on them, it was a “known issue” and would send out an over the air update when they figured it out. Must have, because now it seems ok for the past few weeks. Really sucks on it because many of the features like seat heaters don’t have a button like on the jeep. I wind up resetting them both a couple of times a month for something.

I have one of the first 2024 Wranglers with the new larger screen, purchased in the fall of 2023. I have had persistent crashes of my UConnect system, and have had it in for Warranty service many times. So far, there has been no success in fixing the issue.

Unfortunately, there's a wide variety of reasons that the 2024 UConnect units may be glitching from what we've seen. Alot of them seem to be rooted in the effects on the circuit manufacturing issues during the covid years and every company scrambling to find alternative sources for components. Poor heatsinks causing overheating, screens just refusing to accept video, chips not being great, etc. All depends on when/where that particular unit was made along with whether other components in the Jeep are in the same situation.

Purchased a 2024 Wrangler 7 weeks ago with a faulty system. Starting within the first 24 hours of purchase (2/10/24 - most recent on 3/23/24):

- COMPLETE loss of audio (radio/siriusXM/carplay). Reset resolved the issue.
- Screen freezing/unresponsive. Has occurred multiple times and often takes many resets to resolve and come back online.
- Carplay unresponsive (song appears on screen but won't playback - whether asking Siri or pushing button on screen). Can still make a phone call and view other apps. Has happened multiple times.
- Siri crashes - pushing the command button does nothing.
- Songs skip during playback (brief, 1 second blackouts). Sometimes 1-2 times per song, sometimes days pass without issue.
- Screen glitching and causing the graphic on the display to pixelate (Mar 24- photo enclosed). Reset resulted first in a black screen but soon system started up as if nothing happened.

Anyone else experiencing this? The dealership refuses to investigate further without first hand proof which is hard with these intermittent problems - but I’ve recorded multiple occurrences of each problem as it’s happened. Seems strange that the warranty wouldn’t cover this and I can’t imagine that that I’m just left with a brand new car that doesn’t function properly, right? I do have an consultation with a lawyer next week to find out what my rights are vs. theirs but thought it wouldn’t hurt to come on here and learn from others who’ve maybe experienced this in the past or present. Any stories or advice warmly welcomed.

Post our first trip to the dealership with head unit issues, we got a lengthy software update. Thought that would fix it but it made it worse. Called the dealership to advise. Our service advisor believes our issue is the amplifier, not the head unit. It is being replaced under warranty next week. I'll let you all know if that fixes it!

Got the new amplifier installed today. Made the issue worse! Taking it back to the dealership this Friday. Will update you all on the next "fix"!
