Uconnect CarPlay wrong location

I am having the same problem with 2018 JLUR sine I bought Jeep in November. Defaults to location 200 miles away. Compass is completely disoriented, also. Works fine only intermittently. Made appointment and brought Jeep to dealer for first service and now the map app has been working just fine for past two days!! Mentioned to dealer but since it’s working now that I’m at the dealer, I’m afraid it still won’t be fixed. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I am having the same issues. When I plug my phone into my Jeep Wrangler and navigate thru the U Connect my location reverts to my home in Illinois. I am currently in Louisville and and I drive around it shows me trouncing thru the woods near my house.

I have to restart my Apple map app in order for it to work correctly.

I downloaded google maps and i have the wxact same problem

And when I mean works correctly I mean I have to unplug it from the car then restart the app. It does not work when plugged into the car, period

Same issue. My vehicle has no GPS option built-in, but still it defaults to the original dealer location in Philadelphia every time I ask for directions with my phone connected. Works the same with Apple maps, Google Maps, or Waze.

I know this was asking before, but is there any way to reach this TBS file and do the update by myself?
Asking this because I went to the service and described the problem also give the TBS number which resolve the issue and the answer that I received was ā€œWe need to keep your JLU for al least 2 days just for diagnose purpose and then we will decide what to doā€ā€¦. Imaging my frustration….

I am having the same problem. When my phone is plugged in, it defaults to a location about 10 miles from my house regardless of where I am. I was in Florida and it said I was in Covington, Ga. When I unplug my phone, it works just fine. Extremely annoying.

Unfortunately, this is a problem that no one can solve here, even at the dealership it is a hassle to try to get someone with an open coin to understand that the problem will be solved with a simple update.
For example, in the service of my distributor, the technician asks me for 48 hours keeping my JLU to diagnose the problem.
I wish you luck.

There was a Technical Service Bulletin (08-012-18 REV. D) that appears to address concerns similar to the symptoms that you are having with your vehicle. To ensure this TSB applies, have a qualified technician review the details of the TSB and specifics of your vehicle. Once reviewed, the technician can then perform the repair procedure that best matches the symptoms and diagnosis of your vehicle. I think there is something in combination with Uconnect and Google Map, because I start some direction in my Pixel 2 XL with Google Map, everything seems perfect, them connect to Uconnect in my WJLU 2018 and instantly the image shows me what I have seen previously on the screen of my cellphone, but two seconds later, it shows my position (Uconnect sreen) 100 miles southwest of my real position, although if I do the same with Wase, It always show my correct position.

I was having this same problem. Took the Jeep into the dealership on Saturday, had them service per TSB 08-012-18 Rev D. Apple maps is now showing correct location. All is fixed. It is nice when things work the way they are intended to.

Thank you @JeepCares for the TSB info. Made the service easy. Told the service writer the problem, showed him the TSB and all was fixed. No questions asked, no proving the problem existed, and no excuses from dealership "cannnot duplicate problem."
