I have a 2024 Wrangler Sport S 4xe and everything has been working great. Yesterday I couldn’t get my CarPlay to connect so I deleted it from my Jeep and “forgot” the vehicle from my CarPlay and Bluetooth on my phone. I then re-paired everything and it seemed to be working fine. However, today I noticed that the voice control buttons on my steering wheel don’t seem to work. In CarPlay, when I push the speak button, instead of activating Siri it cycles the menu between CarPlay and Apps. If I turn off CarPlay and enter the phone menu the Siri icon will show up if I hold down the button, but it never does anything I say. I tried the reset option where I hold down the speak and green button, turn off the car, then open the front door for 30 second and close it, but it didn’t seem to help anything. Can anyone else think of a troubleshooting step? There’s no way I accidentally remapped that button or disabled Siri for CarPlay, right? I’ve been through all the settings in the Jeep and my iPhone and can’t find anything to switch on or off.

Of note, my iPhone has been acting a little weird by sending most callers directly to voicemail after one ring. When I look at my missed call log it says that the phone was answered on another device… which it wasn’t. I don’t think they’re related, but it did happen around the same time. “Hey Siri” works on my phone when I’m not in the Jeep, so I’m stumped.

Ok, final update. I tried it with my wife’s iPhone and it paired and worked perfectly. It’s some weird setting on my phone then and not a Jeep Connect issue. Maybe it is related to the calling issue after all.

It sounds like the problem may be your phone and not Connect 5. You may want to backup your iPhone and then do a hard reset to put it back to factory new settings, then restore it from the backup. That might clear the issue with your phone.

Typically if your calls go to voice mail after one ring then do no disturb might be on. It might be called focus now. If the call issue is only while connected to your jeep then it might be driving focus.
anywho I had an issue over the weekend with my car my CarPlay and blue tooth not working and had to completely reset my phone

Do you have any other devices with the Bluetooth enabled? Might be trying to connect to another device.

So, I eventually figured it out. I unpaired my phone again, and when I paired it, a pop up on the phone that said “Finish setting up CarPlay” came up. The last time I paired the phone, this happened, but I received a phone call that wiped it away. My phone seemed connected though, so I didn’t worry. This time I was able to click on it and finish the setup. I don’t know what that tap did, but it wasn’t anything I could select when the phone wasn’t working. After I paired it fully this time the phone rang correctly. My only guess is that my phone was still trying to pair to my Jeep constantly and that was sending my call to the Jeep and hanging up when it didn’t connect. Odd problem but everything seems fine now.
