Guys, Redarc brake controller dial is in the my Accessory Port. So the splitter cable offered by Quadratec won’t work in my scenario. Good to post it here, it might help others. Thanks!

I was bored and had some spare cycles, but to answer your original question @donmontalvo, yes you can swap out the USB-A female receptacle for a USB-C female receptacle. I had a SparkFun USB-C BOB (break out board) for some other project that never got done, and modified it to fit. 3D printed a filler and soldered it up. Since USB-A only uses 4 wires, you won't get any sort of high-speed charging out of it, but the port is usable for data and basic 500mA charging.
