A number of months ago, the USB port in the main console "went out" on me. Specifically, Android Auto stopped working. I found that the USB port in the center console worked, so switched to that one until I get it fixed. Now *it's* gone out as well. Lovely.

Anyone else having problems with USB ports? I have a 2018, BTW...

Had another vehicle that I had the same issues with..... I was always" plugging-unplugging " the phone cable. Now I leave a better quality cable always attached to the ports, and don't constantly wear the ports out from use.

I could tell you, but then....
No issues so far and I use them constantly. Worn two cables out but the ports have been rock solid.... 2018 with 25,000 miles on it.

I had this issue with my center console port, but switched to actual Apple lightning cables (was using cheap 3rd party ones) and car play is working again.

I would try a better quality / new cable.

Had the same issue. Surprisingly, what fixed it was having the dealership flash the radio to the latest software.

Huh, that's interesting. Would be nice if it was that simple (though why the hell can't they figure-out how to get OTA updates working!).

If I have one complaint about the JL, it's the radio SW. I've worked for 25 years in SW development and I can tell you that if I ever released a system with that many issues, well, I'd no longer be employed. I guess if that happened, I could work for Jeep's SW department - they obviously have a pretty low bar..

Well I do the same, for that reason. USB A ports do have a wear-out lifecycle, designed for the lifespan of a PC - NOT a vehicle. USB-C ports, on the other hand, have a longer wear-out cycle. Regardless, I've done the research to make sure I have quality cables and keep them plugged-in, but alas... here I am. :-(

I get regular Uconnect disconnects, or UNconnects. I'm still trying to figure out if it's just the cable, or my old phone, an LG V20.

I don't unplug the cables, I go to the Projection Manager on the Uconnect screen, and just select the device and it connects again.

So, after a bit of cabling shuffling and the buying of stouter cables and extensions, I think Uconnect is working nominally for me, with less regular disconnects (they happen rarely, instead of regularly).

I use a Sabrent cable extension and a Baseus coiled cable with an LG V20 phone. The cable extension is plugged into USB 2, routed alongside and through the center console and connects to the coiled cable at the base of the front console near the driver's right knee.

I've had mine stop connecting to the radio but still charge. Seems to fix itself after turning the Jeep off for a few minutes.

Same as Bryce. I use the USB-C cable on mine. It's random but does happen way more connected in the center console vs the dash.

just throwing this out there for those with possible cable issues: some time ago, I did a lot of research on cables: at the time, although I was looking for lightning cables for my iphone, I've switched over all my usb cables to ANKER brand cables. their products are tough, but more importantly, their lightning cables are licensed & have given me absolutely ZERO "compatibility issue" warnings.
I seriously doubt that I'll ever buy anything but anker cables for my devices

Brand new 2020 JLU here and none of the USB (media hub or console) ports work. Second trip to the dealer this week (couldn't figure it out first time around - 'guessed' at a new Media Hub) and after 2 days troubleshooting they ordered a new (crappy) 5" radio.
