Since I put on the 35s, I am occasionally hearing a rubbing when doing a full turn lock. Seems to happen more when turning while reversing. I trimmed what I saw was rubbing, yet I'm still hearing it. Anyone else have this issue after 35s and 2.5 lift. It wouldn't be a big deal, but it makes a loud popping noise, which causes everyone to stair because they think they are about to witness an accident. Now I find myself parking in places where I don't have to turn much to pull out, just to avoid the gawking.

I trimmed the whole piece on mine with a small cutoff wheel, removed the nutserts from the bumper, and reattached it with trim push pins I had laying around from an old project car.

Hmmm you shouldn’t be rubbing with a 2.5” lift.

Do you know for sure it is the bumper?

Did you mount the 35s on the factory wheels or did you get wheels with more backspacing? If you kept the factory wheels, the tires could be rubbing something mechanical, like a brake line, a swaybar link, or something else.

Yes -6 back spacing 17x9. Nah its definitely plastic, and loud when it happens. Causes everyone to turn and look. Since I trimmed it, it mainly happening in revere now.

6” of backspacing may not be enough for 35s.

OE rims have 6.2” of backspacing. 35s need at least 5.2” or less.

You can get some wheel spacers.

it is the splash guard/fender extension that is on Sport JLs. Plenty of folks (myself included) have removed them, some of those (myself included) trimmed off the outside and reinstalled to give some protection to the back of the fog light.

One note - the newer JLs are a little different shape than in the video, and don't use different size bolts.

If you removed the Eurofenders, which is what I rubbed on went I went to 33s, you're rubbing on the lower air dam which I assume is still on judging by what you circled.

The circled photo looks like a stock photograph —i.e., generic— to me.

If your talking about mine (this first photo), yes that is a stock photo because I already trimmed mine and its still rubbing somewhere.
