I'm going to be real with you on this one. That's a nice looking Jeep!

Thought you're going to get me by posting a 4XE, huh? Answered with a hate laden post about how much 4XE suck!

Jeep Wrangler JL TREDSDERT's Rate My Wrangler Thread!!! 1000006234

It's a really nice looking Wrangler you got there. Like I said in the last review, the trimmed factory steel front bumper is a clean slightly aggressive looking front bumper. Got a badlands in there, also nice. I think I see metal cloak skids down there, along with What seems to be automatic step rock rails? Did they function as rock rails? Or they just automatic steps?

Clearly there's some suspension upgrades, a lift, Baja designs lights up front. Brought you got money, that's clear!

A GoPro mounted? You're either a YouTuber or full of yourself! :CWL: 😜

While I'm not a huge fan of the automatic steps, it's just another thing to get broken, and you can't drop them on a rock quite like you can with a solid rock rail.

Regardless, it's a sexy looking Jeep, clearly you put a lot of time and money into it, I can only hope that you've done most of those modifications yourself. Nothing quite like getting your hands dirty and making your own Jeep badass...

Overall rating 4/5

Heh, thanks. I might have been trolling a bit with the 4xe, but hey, I love it. :)

That is actually the Warn winch that comes from the factory now.

As far as the rock railes go, those are Rock Slide Engineering side steps. I did include the extra armor on them for extra protection. I have not been afraid to bounce them off rocks and so far no issues. The only time I broke one of them is when I tried climbing out before the step had finished lowering and I stripped the motor. I had to replace that myself.

Clearly there's some suspension upgrades, a lift, Baja designs lights up front. Brought you got money, that's clear!
Yeah, it's a 3.5" teraflex lift with the Falcon 3.5 e-adjust shocks. Teraflex HD steering kit as well. And an Apex steering boost.

A GoPro mounted? You're either a YouTuber or full of yourself! :CWL: 😜
Can't it be both? ;-)

I do have some fanciful dreams of making a channel but we will see. Currently, just gathering fun footage.

While I'm not a huge fan of the automatic steps, it's just another thing to get broken, and you can't drop them on a rock quite like you can with a solid rock rail.
I get it. So far, I have not had any issues. Who knows what it will take to actually damage one but I might find out at some point, heh

Thanks! :) I spent a lot of time thinking through what I wanted. Sadly, I have no garage and I don't even live on a flat piece of ground, I am on a hill. So, I really can't do much work on my own. There are a few of the smaller things I have done but the big stuff all gets done at Epic Adventures up in Vancouver, BC.

I'm going to do this one a little bit differently...

Beautiful scenery, and what's basically a stock two-door...

Overall score: 2/5

I'll be honest, if it was a four-door, it would have been a 1/5. You can up the score on this one by half a point if you trim off those ridiculous outer pieces of the front bumper. Stubby bumpers are always better!!

Quite a few mods here, surprisingly enough a lot of them under the radar.

To start, it's a two-door soft top in bikini pearl, instantaneously you're already at 2 out of 5.

Looks like the same factory front bumper with those ridiculous extra pieces on the ends. You need to cut those off and give your jeep an OP stubby bumper!

Loving the aftermarket wheels. The Chrome goes great with the rest of the aesthetics of the vehicle. Not sure if they're real beadlocks or simulated, but they look good! The white lettering on the outside, really clean look! I'm not always a fan of white letters on tires but in your case, it looks good! 🔥

You got the bull bar, which doesn't always look good, but in your case it's a clean look. Makes it look a little more beefy and sturdy! At minimum it is in fact a functional addition. Something you can yank on if you have to be towed out.

You got an aftermarket reinforcement bar between your c-pillars, and clearly it's being used to mount aftermarket lights? And then I saw that thing on your c-pillar itself, not really sure what to make of it until I realized they are bikini pearl seat belts all around... :handsinair::party::captain:

Not sure if that's just a cold air intake on the passenger side hood, or if that can be used to mount a snorkel. Regardless it's a nifty little mod all the same.

And last but not least, the cargo basket. I'm not sure if you had to delete your rear seat for this or if you just folded it forward. Also the cargo basket doesn't look to be raised, so I'm not sure if there's a cargo lock box underneath it? 🤔 I'm going to take a guess and say it's just a cargo basket with the rear seats folded forward, and that way you can remove the cargo basket and fold back the factory rear seats, and fit two more people back there, thus why you still have the rear seat belts installed.

Clearly you've done quite a bit with this one.

Overall rating: 4/5

This one is definitely the least impressive. It's a four-door, it's a nice shade of red, but it's also a 4XE, which may be reliable for you for now, but as we all know is in fact the least reliable powertrain in the Jeep Wrangler ever!

It is a Rubicon, so you got that going for you. I'm guessing it's your family travel vehicle. 🤷‍♂️

Overall rating: 0/5

Part of me wants to be kind and give you a one out of five, and honestly if it was any other powertrain other for than 4XE, That's what I'd be giving you, but the 4XE is just such a trash powertrain, it has to be reflective in the scoring. I mean maybe you'll keep it long-term, but I'd love to see anyone with a 4XE Wrangler with 250,000 mi on it who hasn't spent months and months and months at the dealership lot, and 10s of thousands of dollars on part fixes outside of warranty. A lot of the 4XEs out there aren't seeing the bigger picture, a lot of them are still under warranty and they're not too worried because they figure they won't keep their vehicle forever, but the second that thing is outside of warranty, y'all are ****ed!

Hope that's not too harsh, and if it is, that's why you came here! Honest review!! 😜

Recent update with a new Duck holder on the dash, and the brightest RGB rock lights.
Because of the blurriness of the photo I was having trouble figuring out if it was a JK or JL. Thankfully a quick image search brought me to a photo of this PIECE OF SHIT JL on Instagram.

Jeep Wrangler JL TREDSDERT's Rate My Wrangler Thread!!! 1000006238

It was hard seeing those door handles and the base of the side mirrors. Now I know someone has ruined their Wrangler JL more than I have ruined mine.

It's tragic because every time I see something I like about it, I realize it's attached to something shitty.

ARB diff covers, with factory steering components in front...

Damn look at the size of those tires, with absolutely no sidewall... :headbang:

Angry grill in the front... Really!? Well at least they color matched the top portion to the hood... Oh wait that's one of those ridiculous looking DV8 Chinese manufactured hoods...

That ugly ass overweight Amazon bumper.. I'm not a huge fan of those specific fender flares, they're pretty damn ugly... WAIT!?!? Is that coilovers!!!? WHO THE **** IS GOING TO SPEND $5,000 ON COILOVERS ON A ****ING MALL CRAWLER!!???!!! :asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat::asshat:

I won’t show the wife your rating of her 4xE but otherwise pretty fair, lol.
If we keep the 4xE as a very long term vehicle I’m actually hoping there will be a full electric conversion option out there for it to provide decent range and fast charging. With all the recalls it has, I’m not sure we will keep it past warranty.
It is our practical vehicle in case we have visitors that are not contortiomists and we need the extra doors.
My red 2 door is mostly stock (winch and onboard air (all three have onboard air)) so I’ll go along with that one also.

My bikini 2 door, I’m pretty happy with a 4/5.
The cargo rack is mounted to a security enclosure and while I originally left the seatbelts in place in case we put the seat back in, that hasn’t happened in 3 years so a summer project will be to unbolt the seatbelts from the rear.
You are seeing a cold air intake on the passenger side, it could be changed to accommodate a snorkel quite easily. Also correct is that most mods are quite subtle and most fly under the radar of most people who see it.
The wheels are true beadlocks and, aside from the half doors, are my favourite modification.

What are you like San Antonio or something?

Nice looking area to live!

The chunky front bumper is a little bit obnoxious, but it does look sturdy.

I can't tell if that's Sting-Gray or Anvil. It looks a little too dark to be Earl.

The black wheels and tires are a nice, nothing negative to say about them, but they also don't stand out a ton.

So basically it's a stock Rubicon with a lift and an aftermarket front bumper? I'm guessing because there's so much stock things on there, it's a Mopar lift? My heart is telling me Mopar lift!

Factory rock rails, factory hood, factory everything. I know it's a factory dash, but as dark as the whole Jeep is, that red dash stands out like a sore thumb. And honestly it's not a good looking sore thumb. Maybe get it vinyl coated to color match your exterior paint? It just seems a bit much in an otherwise dark vehicle.

Not a bad looking Jeep, overall pretty basic stuff, nothing special either. (No hate on that, everyone's Jeep is special to them, and I'm not just saying that because I love my fellow Texans... Or am I 🤔)

I'm going to have to start streamlining these reviews or I'm going to be here all day responding.

I guess for now I can keep up. Not much going on anyways. And it's not like I work tomorrow!

Back to the mission!!!

Right off the bat, that third photo... I know it's not, but with the white water jug behind your red fuel jug, it makes me think of a Canadian flag. I understand you are from Virginia...

I got mixed feelings on your front bumper. Overall it looks like a dumb bow tie, and a fat one at that! On the other side, that Amber light bar on the bottom of it is ****ing cool! 😍

You got some skids there, Not sure how far back they go though... IS THAT MORIMOTO HEADLIGHTS????? They look like Morimoto headlights! I'm a huge fan of Morimoto headlights!

You got those non-rock rail steps that are just begging to be ripped off your Jeep if you drag them across a rock face. Functional as a step, Not functional as a rock rail! It's definitely one of those things, there's a lot of options for rock rails, there's a lot of options for steps, there's not a lot of options for rock rail steps. As it is I have completely mangled my rock rail steps and they are clearly meant to function as both. If I did what I do with your side steps, I probably would have ripped my pinch weld right off!

Molle panels on both rear side hardtop windows. Highly functional and a great out of the way place to store gear and in your case extra fuel and water!

Beyond that pretty average looking Wrangler. Slight modifications, nothing too crazy. Good for the daily driver, bad for the rock crawler, good to transport the family around on the holidays and look cool doing it!

OVERALL RATING: 2/5

The side steps hurt you in this one. I mean if the frame is below your steps, you can always drag your Jeep on the frame as long as you have skids in the center, but it's so dangerous to have those pinch weld mounted steps with those vertical fins underneath. Hopefully you can get around to replacing those before you rip them off on the trail! I guess if you avoid any serious obstacles, you should be fine! Like I said, drag your frame not your steps, just hope you don't slip in the process. :crying:

Man, such a beautiful Jeep, your two door bikini pearl!

If we ever wheel together at any point in the future, I want to be behind your Jeep, so I can drool the entire ride! 🤩

I posted mine and was told it looked like this. I’m still recovering 🤓

This one's actually kind of nice in a very subtle way.

Strange shape to the front bumper, but it is extremely stubby and it seems to follow the lines of the front grill which is actually a really nice thing. You got the aftermarket brush guard, which I personally have found is pretty much useless, but some people like it so 🤷‍♂️.

It's another one of those under the radar Jeeps. Look stock, isn't stock! I see the silver sway bar end link, I'm guessing you have a lift and you just can't tell from the photo? Maybe I'm crazy but it looks like aftermarket ball joints, but again maybe I'm just crazy!

I see the hood lock, is that aftermarket or factory? If it's factory I'm guessing it's a 2023, but I'm pretty sure your Jeep's been on the forum for a minute, so I'm guessing it's aftermarket.

I see the mounts holding your phone and that other one to the right of it, BulletPoint Mounting Solutions? Love me some BulletPoint gear. A little bit pricey, but the quality matches the price so it's always a good option to go with BulletPoint!

I don't think I've ever seen side steps like that on a JL Wrangler... I've seen side steps like that on a TJ... Did you make those yourself to match my wooden front bumper, and then color match them to your Wrangler? They're definitely different looking. I'd love to see some more photos of those closer up, especially the mounting hardware. It looks clean to say the least!

I don't know how hypocritical I'm being with these reviews and contradicting myself between them, but...
