Going on 3 months since ordering a manual transmission Wrangler, and still no build date. Is the manual the issue?

Transmissions are made in Japan. Have not heard of a shortage, but there are numerous supply chain delays.

It may also be related to components at the transmission factory. If they are short on electronics, they will fulfill the higher dollar amount values (although, are there are a lot of electronics on a manual?)

I just took delivery last week on a JLUR with manual Ordered July 2nd. I do not think it is the manual holding you up. However as stated above there are multiple supply chain issues at hand. It could be almost anything. Sorry for your trouble.

Thanks for the info. It's going on three months and still no build date for me, and we're running out of summer.

I ordered a Sahara with manual tranmission on 3/1/2022. It supposedly went to D1 on 4/1/2022, but no other movement since then. No build sheet, or windows sticker as of yet.

Going to share my experience as I just took delivery of a 6 speed manual after 14 weeks post order.

In speaking to my dealer throughout the wait, it was never mentioned that the transmission was a potential delay due to supply disruption. With that said, it's possible Jeep sequences the manuals after a certain order threshold is met, but that's speculation. All I know is that the dealer I ordered from said of the 100 orders that was delivered at one time, mine was the only manual. So if the uptake on manuals is relatively low, sequencing builds might make sense?
