Delivery Delay and Status

We ordered a new JLUR on 12/3/18. We have followed the tracking page and the jeep has been "found". Questions:
Any idea why some jeeps are ordered/delivered in a much shorter time frame? How do we determine which "status" the jeep is in? What is the contact info for Jeep Chat or anyone else that can shed some light on the whereabouts of this jeep. Dealer is clueless. I've read on these forums that the larger dealers receive orders quicker. Any truth to that? Anyway thanks in advance for your reply. Would like to get this rig ready for Moab.

It is one of the universal mysteries, similar to why are we here and what happens after I die, of why some orders get delivered like 3 days later and others take 5 or 6 years. Or so it seems. What you order can make a timing difference. After being built some go back to a department that adds certain options (JB). If they don't have it in stock it waits or if there a lot of them there it may take time. Or if during inspection (I) problems are found it goes back for corrections. Once built (KZ) it needs to wait for enough other Wranglers going to your area to fill a truck or railcar. Yours will go by railcar to Florida and then finish on a truck.
Your dealer knows what status it is in like Jeep Chat. Once it transport Jeep Chat doesn't have timely info but the dealer does. They use Rubicon VLS tracking system that tells them the latest time and date your railcar passed an RFID reader, when the Wrangler engine is started, when it is at the rail drop, when it loads on a truck and when it arrives at the dealer. There are some cases when it reaches the rail drop that it can be delayed there for up to 45 days. There is one owner now that has been waiting for quite a while because the battery is dead and it seems no one will go jump it.
I ordered mine 11/26 and got my VIN and VON the next day. Then it sat in D staus for 38 days while others were ordered and delivered. I wrote an email to the CEO of FCA asking why the delay. Early next morning had an email from an Executive Relations Manager saying he had expedited my order and it was already in paint. Next day it was built and on a railcar heading my way. He escalated my transport "hot vehicle" and the dealer kept me informed of where it was. The ERM even emailed me it had arrived at the dealer before the dealer knew because it was unloaded over night. BTW if you need to go this route don't tell them you are Beyonce's cousin, I already used that ploy.
The bigger the dealer doesn't always mean they have pull. The biggest Jeep dealer in US, Dave Smith, is in Kellogg Idaho. Jeeprubicongurl has been waiting for hers for 12 weeks and it just went to KZ status and the salesperson at Smith says it may take 3 to 4 weeks to get to them.

I’m in the same boat as you! Ordered a fully loaded JLR on the same date as you and am still waiting for my vehicle to arrive to Dave Smith Motors which is supposed to be one of the largest dealerships out there! Surprised to see so many other peoples orders come in before mine, almost on week twelve and no Rubicon went into KZ status on 2/14, very curious as to when it’ll arrive!
