Any plans or thoughts for setting up the Wolfbox to allow to be used as a trail cam (i.e., grill mounted camera).

I wish I had thought of that! I bet the rear camera would work well as a trail cam.

Does it have dual camera inputs? I’d like to use as rear view camera but then be able to switch to trail cam when wheeling.

The G900 does not have dual camera inputs but you can easily unplug the rear cam and plug in the front trail cam. If you want to switch back-and-forth quickly, then you'd need a switch.

I have found from fiends that I wheel with that have the trail cam, that they almost never ever use it. Also the 8.4 head can easily add a camera for the trail cam. Of course it does not record like the Wolfbox does, but I also think every video or pic from a trail cam would end up looking about the same.

Not sure if I would use trail cam "mode" often, but there are those times that I'd like to see more than just hood and sky!

Thought if the Wolfbox could be set up, then I could avoid pulling the dash apart to hook it up to the head unit, and get better quality video to boot.

I didn't know if just mounting the camera on the grill would work, or if the image would be reversed?

You can take the dash apart in less than two minutes. It is super easy.

The Wolfbox G900 camera does allow you to change the orientation of the rear camera. That is very easy to do. It take less than a minute. I think it would be very easy to set the Wolfbox G900 up for a trail cam. I just saying that for the number of times you would actually use that way is very low.

If you have a Gopro, you could mount the Gopro up on the bumper and stream it to your phone. That would be the easiest way most likely.

Have you ever noticed there is almost no chatter about people using a trail cam or what not or talking about how it has saved them in a difficult situation? Why is that...... I would say that in theroy, it sounds cool, but in application it is hardly ever used in real world situation.

Like if is serious enough that you need a trail cam, you should probably get out and look at it anyways.

A little tip for you: mount it on the front bumper, somewhere lower, when you cross a creek, you'll get excellent video of the world under water.

I'm throwing this in here, but for my 2 view G840S, I bought an additional rear camera to keep loose and plug-in whenever I need a trail or underside or engine/suspension view. Glued on a powerful rare-earth magnet, set it wherever, and let the wire run loose inside. Quick set-up and take-down. Its a big help. Love it!
