I searched a year back and didn't see this directly answered.

I'm buying new wheels. I currently only have 2 of 5 TPMS sensors working, and personally I think they are more of a nuisance than a benefit. I typically air down and air up my tires as much as once a week for 4-wheeling, so I know what pressure is in my tires. And if I need to know right now, I can just check with a gauge.

So, if I just install the new wheels with no TPMS sensors, what is going to happen? Warning lights like I have now from 3 non-functional sensors? Warning beepers? Alarms? Warnings that I am breaking federal law?

You clearly don’t get bothered, but a red light on the dash all the time is NOT my favorite. Even the low pressure light when aired down bothers me.
I have bad dreams about check engine lights, lol.
All this and I have answer to your question.

Speaking of which, ... I see a few different models of Tazr. Which one do I need if I just want to shut off TPMS entirely? And will shutting off TPMS get rid of dash warning lights?

IIRC, the Tazer will allow you to adjust min PSI but will not disable TPMS entirely. Having no sensors will not nag you per se but it will show a constant TPMS warning light.

Personally I would get TPMS sensors. When you air down often it can be useful to have a "You're Aired Down" reminder light on the dash.

Actually, both the Tazer JL Lite & Tazer JL Mini and also JSCAN can disable the Tire Pressure Monitoring System warnings.

Thanks. What's the difference between a Tazer JL Lite and a Tazer JL Mini?
