My coolant temps are constantly hitting 230+ degrees. After it hits about 235, the fan kicks on and sounds like a jet engine. It will cool down to about 224 and then head right back up. I am pretty sure when I purchased it, it did not run this hot. Today I took my wife's down the road and ran it up to operating temp and it would fluctuate between 192-197 which is what I recall mine doing when first purchased. It is not throwing any codes or anything. However, it does seem like it likes to live at those temps. Her's is a High Tide and mine is a Beach. Other than the name, I have a tow package and convience package and she has heated seats. That is the end of the differences in builds other than cosmetics, color tops etc. Both have the 3.6L engine. I am not loosing coolant or oil etc. Any advise on this would be appreciated. I would take it to the dealer since its under warranty but I am betting they will say well its not throwing a code. Thanks.

All I can say is my 2018 seems to normally run below 200 like your wifes...

Does your see more offroad use? Could your radiator stack use a cleaning?

It has not seen any off road use and the radiator should be fine

So sat there and let them both idle. Hers never hit 230+ where mine did. When I turned them both off, my fan had kicked on 3-4 times and hers read 222 degrees. Thermostat half open or bad water pump maybe?

Off road lights are the only thing mounted there. Shouldnt be enough to cause an air flow issue.

I’d start with removing the off-road lights. Could make quite the difference. And it’s just a couple wires and bolts to try it out. It does seem like the fans are not coming on early enough. In the California 90+ degree days I tend to run with the a/c on my Jeep doesn’t get past 224 unless climbing long grades but typically run around the 200 mark

These temps are with the AC off. I generally dont turn it on unless it gets 86+ outside. And even then its not on if the top and doors are off like they are right now.

That is a little high. Could your radiator fins be clogged with dirt?
Hmmm, Florida. Dead bugs impeding airflow?

Saw a couple of dead bugs but nothing to write home about. I checked that also. For TSing measures, I did turn the AC on to see if the fan kicked on. It did and it of course kept it cooler sitting idling.

FWIW, my 21 3.6 ran 200-212 at highway speed, 185-197 at idle, and stop and go traffic got up to 226.

My new 22 runs almost the same, during the same-ish weather.

in the winter my 21 ran about 10 degrees cooler all around.

So from your temps, mine doesnt seem so bad. Granted mine will go higher at idle. As for highway speeds, I would assume the 35s and 4:56 gears could cause it to run warmer?

I wouldn't think the tires with the appropriate gears would cause higher temps, possibly initially, or in stop go traffic, but once you're moving, I doubt it.

The heat index in Florida I'm sure is Higher than where I am in Texas right now. May explain a higher idle temp?

Possibly. Not sure what the heat index was today but the high was 89 as far as temp.

Remove the lights... They're blocking airflow.
