After you place a 2019 order, it will be jsut a hop skip and a jump to wait for 2020 Jeep!

I found there are dealers that have tons of JLs, find one drive there and pick a winner.

There will always be a next year model with a couple things hat are nice to have.
True. If I do wait till 2019 I’ll be pretty close to the wrangler pickup and I’ll be doing this again. I found a black 2018 with every feature I wanted minus steel bumpers, but I would have upgraded to an aftermarket bumper anyway so I may go check it out this weekend. Black is my first color choice in the 2018s. We’ll see what happens!

I'm in the process of ordering an '18 JLUR in NY. No mention of ordering being closed. Confused AF...

You can order 2018, but some groups will be closed (LED).
Thanks for the clarification!

I didn't get that package. I'd rather do it aftermarket. $900 for LED lights is a rip, plenty of aftermarket options out there for less that can be easily installed.

Do you know if there are any other packages like that? I want to be sure to bring these up with the Dealer.

900 is seeming like a bargain right now. The first manufacturer came out with a full replacement LED headlight kit and it's 600, and it doesn't look near as good as the OEM LED lights, although it does have Bluetooth & RGB and built in turn signals. But that 600 is only for headlights, you don't get LED fogs, turn signals, or tail lights. The 895 from Jeep covers all of the LED lights on the vehicle. They also have the LED fogs for another couple hundred.

With rough earnings today and metal costs continuing to be pressured upward, do not be surprised to see another jump in pricing for 2019.

My vote is to wait.

I ordered a 2.0 turbo Sahara on March 7.

That vehicle was "scrapped" by Jeep and "cloned" in late May. At that time, I requested to change my order from a Sahara to a Rubicon - so they submitted a new order for me as a 2.0 Rubicon.

Both the original and the "clone" Sahara are finally in transit to my dealer. The Rubicon is still not built.

I talked with my dealer and do not plan to take delivery of any of the 3 vehicles (they are fine with that as they know the wait time was not acceptable and they will sell all 3 vehicles for more than the deal I had negotiated, anyway).

We plan to be one of the first 2019 orders to be placed (with Advanced Technology Group for ACC and whatever else it may bring).

Hopefully, 2019s won't be like the 2018s. The dealer placed my 2018 Rubicon order on April 11th and I'm STILL waiting for the status to change from C!! My salesman says early August my Jeep should finally be built. In the meantime, at the EAA AirVenture convention last week at Oshkosh, Ford had a damn nice 2019 Mustang Bullet on display with more than 485 HP, for $46K. Makes me to start wondering about things although it's pretty hard to rock climb in a Mustang.

Are you a turbo orderer, as well?

You can no longer order the 2018. July 19th was the last day. You might be able to pick up a dealer car but might not have the specs you want. September starts the order proccess for 2019’s.
Shame on you for calling it a C-A-R! Tisk...tisk...tisk...

Also, my dealer told me the FCA rep got in touch with them today and successfully changed the color of my order from green to black so I’m thinking the July 19th thing was “subject to change” (which it even says on the official chart thing on the Chrysler website, if you look closely at the asterisk Next to “July 19th”
