When I bought my Rubicon it was very windy and rainy. I had to lower my tire pressure as every time I would go over ridges in the road it bounce all over. It was kinda scary when combining it being blown all over the place and traction control kicking on... I had upper 40's with mud terrain tires driving off the lot. Lowered them to 32 and it was a huge difference.

Just be aware if you feel like you made a huge mistake when driving back, maybe a simple fix as correcting tire pressure. I love the way the Jeep drives, only if the pressure is correct.

Congrats on your first Jeep! A couple things you want to make sure of before you leave the dealership:

- Read the JL Delivery Checklist and make sure you got everything that you bought: (https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/jl-delivery-checklist.3453/)

- MAKE SURE TO LOWER YOUR TIRE PRESSURE!!! For whatever reason, Jeeps ship with 45+ PSI in the tires. If you don't drop your pressures, your Jeep will feel like it's all over the road.

- Take it easy for the first 60ish miles. Try to keep it under 60mph. Follow the recommended break-in instructions in your owner's manual. This can be a hot topic on this forum, but better safe than sorry.

- Most importantly, enjoy the hell out of it!

Follow the recommended break-in instructions in your owner's manual.
I'll have to consult my manual but I thought it said something like "a long break in period is not required" and that was about it.

EDIT: found it. there was more... this is from the 2019

ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMENDATIONS A long break-in period is not required for the engine and drivetrain (transmission and axle) in your vehicle. Drive moderately during the first 300 miles (500 km). After the initial 60 miles (100 km), speeds up to 50 or 55 mph (80 or 90 km/h) are desirable.

While cruising, brief full-throttle acceleration within the limits of local traffic laws contributes to a good break-in. Wide-open throttle acceleration in low gear can be detrimental and should be avoided. The engine oil installed in the engine at the factory is a high-quality energy conserving type lubricant. Oil changes should be consistent with anticipated climate conditions under which vehicle operations will occur.

NOTE: A new engine may consume some oil during its first few thousand miles (kilometers) of operation. This should be considered a normal part of the break-in and not interpreted as a problem.
