“Exactly how it is?” ?LMAO. Jeep gave up there at the end, and just played dead. A little too much throttle and a small slip, hello. I broke the plastic backing off my mirror, everything else is fine. Got super lucky. I didn’t smash in the side of the Jeep, or even hit it. Jeep mirrors must be made with something special…

I might as well post my recovery video. Yeah it’s embarrassing to flop, but whatever. I knew the rollover risk heading into that one and went for it anyways. I could have done better with rigging my winch line too, but another whatever. Had a blast out there today.

I’ve run all of the BOH trails in Big Bear. That section of Dishpan is by far the most difficult, yet isn’t a BOH trail. Go figure.

I’ve ran the other trails up there too. This spot is rough, with higher consequences compared to the other trails. I went for the hard line and hosed it. I had already lost sense of my tire placement in the rear and relied on my spotter, who legit said “ I don’t know, looks good but???” I should have stopped myself and hopped out to check. Hardest hit I’ve taken in the Jeep so far. Honestly my Jeep took it in stride and romped right through the rest of the day no problem. There’s a bunch of snow and ice on the trails up there now.

Dang Muskie, you need to try and find a rocky place to drive?
Remind me not to bitch about mud anymore?. Good news is you got her out with minimum damage. A winch is a handy piece of kit..

Wow! Spotters. I only trust them when I've verified them to be legit. I've seen and heard of too many bystander/spotters with directions that fail. When it gets technical, lines for a 2 dr. vs 4 dr. are often different and need to be noted. "Spotter" in the video was useless BTW, wasn't watching out for the OP and really gave the OP false confidence. FYI, I wheel a lot alone and I will get out to walk a questionable section, just like motorcycle trials riding, BTDT. I've been know to pull a winch line too (kinda like paddling your feet riding thur a trials section) to "stay out" of trouble. Ha, no penalty points gained winching.
After watching the videos I have some two cent opinions. Besides a competent spotter, it would have helped to have had better tires, lower air pressure and as OP said, less throttle/speed. Slow stop and go control is easier in a stock Rubi automatic vs manual IMO.
OP, thanks for posting the videos and I agree you were lucky. Video was kind of a food for thought, how not to video. I have found the LiteBrite Youtube couples videos very enlightening on proper extreme rock crawling technique. Micro slow wheel travel and a spotter giving real time observations so driver can do corrections is ideal for extreme wheeling.
I agree with you. I did have my rear tires at 10 and the fronts at 12 psi though. Need some bead locks. And yep that’s the situation where having an auto would have been nice, but even so I’d rather my clutch for everything else and I’ll hit that line again next time I’m up there. Can’t say you ran dishpan if you take the bypasses.

Yep. 4lo 1st gear with 4.88s. The idle is about .5 miles per hour. Rev it up to 5k and your moving a hot 1mph. The main problem was the passenger rear tire sliding off and pulling the front with it. That’s why it did a WWE move in the air. If it was a little slower it might not have popped, but most likely it would have. I should have realigned the rear before trying it.
