I remeasured my factory wheel, y'all are 100% correct! It is 6" of BS = +44mm offset.

I don't know why the hell I measured it with the level sitting on top of the tire, which is how I came up with 6.75" = +63mm. I'm just not as sharp as I used to be.
This will make a big difference on ordering new wheels.

Thank you to everyone for all of your input and help.

By your deeds I honor you! :please:

You've just squarely realized why backspace is awkward -- your rim has 6" but that number matters little because with your tire its 6.75" anyway.

As a pizza cutter fan, I vote you get the 6.5" steelies. Paint them a nice matte black. They're a great offset!

Yeah, that's the wheel I want but the offset +40 isn't going to be enough to clear my Apex sway bar links. ?

This is what started the search for new wheels.

This is why I went with the JKS quick disconnects. Good luck with your search.

Spacers :p
Now that I have finally figured out the correct size and offset wheel that I need. I have quickly realized it doesn't exist. (17x8 +6mm offset) ?

If you keep your stock wheels, you can get a 1.5" spacer to move them out to +6mm. Bora sells them.

If you need 1.5” less backspacing to avoid rubbing, how do stock +44 wheeled Rubi’s not rub with only .75” wider axles (per side)? Not questioning you, I read the same materials and agree they’re pushing for 4.5” backspacing or a 1.5” wheel spacer.

There is a 1.25" spacer from Mammoth Offroad (ExtremeTerrain)

Thats the lowest spec hub-centric lug spacer you can run. This will only work with the wheels that have pockets next to lug bores - those are needed for the remaining length of the stock lugs jutting out to find a home and the wheel sits level on the spacer's hub lip.

Spacer just adds that exact amount of space between tire and inner components.. as if you were adding additional width to the axles.

I'm not sure I understand your question, I have a 2023 sport and to be honest I have crunched so many numbers, variables, BS, offsets in the last 48 hrs. I've been awake for 2 days; my brain feels like a feather in a whirlwind.

If you don't want to run spacers, then get a 17x8.5 +10 offset which is super cheap and commonly available at Quadratec

Stock (its precisely +44.5)

17x8.5 +10 Wheel

Its 6" - 5.14" --> nets you 0.86" additional clearance each side - sort of puts you at Rubicon wide-track axle's spec.

You can further this by going 17x8.5 +0 offset wheels (another commonly available spec from Method, Black rhino etc.) that would put you at 6" - 4.75" --> 1.25" of clearance (similar to what you would have achieved with the spacer)

See comparison below between stock wheel vs 17x8.5 +0 wheel. You can visualize the change

Note:

I currently run the 1.25" spacer - waiting to eventually get a 17x8.5 +0 offset wheel when i save up enough for that.

I can't find any 7.5" wheels anywhere. 8" wheels with 4.75 BS from my research doesn't exist. I did find an 8" wheel with zero offset. I have also found an 8" wheel with +10mm offset.

Which one do you think will work better?

Why does it have to be 7.5 wheel? the idea is to get clearance, so why would it not be from a 8.5 width wheel with a bit more backspacing

Don't worry about wheel width as long as its not 9" or more (which is a no-no for pizza cutters/10.5"s). Honestly you have much more in-stock options and competitive prices on 8.5 wheels due to economy of scale.

at $179 a piece the Quadratec morphic wheels (17x8.5 +10) is a terrific bargain. And its a replica of the Rubicon and Willys stock wheels.

There is another from Taktik @ 160 a piece - 17x8.5 +6 (even more clearance)

He's running 255 width tires. The wider wheels will make him lose a bead more easily and prevent airing down to the lower pressures, plus less protection from the tire sidewall on rocks.
