Not expecting sports car performance, but is it normal to hear tire squeal when turning tight corners?
315/70/17 BFG KO2's at 30psi on a non lifted 2door Rubicon. No apparent rubbing anywhere.
Is it just the nature of the beast?
Thanks in advance.....

How worn are the tires? I've noticed my tires do that when they start to get worn.

What offset/backspace are your wheels? The further out you push the tires, the more scrubbing. The "Ackerman" angles of the steering system are optimized for a certain track width. When you make it wider, it will the outside tire will scrub more.

I do not believe that Jeep runs 100% ackerman on either the short or long wheelbase. Both use the same knuckle so both are probably much less than 100%.

If you run through a little water during a tight turn and then stop the Jeep you will see the front wheels visible do not match the arc each tire is describing.

Unless something crazy is going on with ball joints being moved the ackerman is built into the knuckle, wheelbase and track and cannot be altered. Yes, track changes will make things better or worse.

You may be correct. I haven't checked the ackerman in my 4 door. But then I have Reid knuckles and have no idea what they did.

I get a squeal in parking lots some times. no always, but if I'm making a tight turn with the wheels al the way to the stops and maybe a little gas pedal, it squeals. JLUR with 315/70R17 KO2s.

It’s normal and will fade as the grip of the tires fade. (Unless you’re trying to turn with your lockers on)

Mine has done this since new. Sounds like a dog yelping. Funny enough though, my wife says hers doesnt. My tires are set at 32 PSI.
