remote start turns engine off when opening the rear tailgate

I've noticed that when i use my remote start and grab my rear tailgate handle and open the door the remote start deactivates. Doesn't matter if I unlock it before I open the door or use the passive entry.
If you open one of the side doors it remains running as you would expect but open the rear tailgate and it shuts off.

Is this expected or is there something wrong?

Most remote starts from other manufacturers shut down when ANY door is opened. Anti-theft programming.
