Do it!!! Front windshield as well. I have 20% all around and I can’t remember what’s on the windshield. Only downside is fellow Jeep owners can’t see when I return the wave ✌?.

While the blacked out certainly looks cool, you wouldn't make it 5 miles around here without a warning to remove or straight up ticket.

I'm glad your area allows it, but I can tell you from the experience of doing a proper windows out install of darker tint then getting pulled over the first time I went on the road. I was given a week to remove or a ticket would be issued.

Sadly the patrolman lived on my daily route, so my chances of getting by him were slim to none.

At the time I was furious, but later after a LEO family member was shot on a late night routine pull over on a car with blacked out windows, I have changed my tune. ?

I live in Ga, it’s not allowed but hardly ever enforced. A Officer is required to use a tint meter to determine your percentage. Most LEO’s here are not going to pay for a meter to do so (myself included). It also helps that almost everyone’s windows are tinted due to this Ga heat!!

I'm jealous. It was 98° (105 heat index) here this week ?

I did a Llumar 20% ATC on the front doors to match and 80% Air on all the rest. It is mostly for heat and makes a real difference.

Tint, yes. Look into 3M Crystalline tint if you like the heat rejection without the dark look. I had the 50% VLT on my last sedan in Florida here and it really kept the heat down while still easily being able to see in and out. May go up to 3M crystalline 40% (which I think is actually 33% VLT or so) this time on my new JLUR. I am not a fan of windshield tinting myself.

Just to be on record, tinting the front door windows is great for those wanting to pretend to be gangsters, but it’s a safety issue for me. Tinting the windshield is odd for a street driven vehicle.
I can’t see the driver behind the gangster windows. Because I can’t see them, I have no idea where they’re going or if they’re looking at me. Super dangerous for me. Looks cool on a show car though.

The Xpel XR+ is another competitive option. Not promoting one over the other. I had this installed on my super large windshield on my Sprinter RV. No tint but the heat blockage was amazing. Parked in the sun for long periods dramatically reduced the heat from building inside.

Also we didn't have to crank the A/C so the interior noise was less as well. Add bonus. But... NOT CHEAP.

Ordered my JL with no tint. I had installed 20% Mirror, except for front door glasses. Used 3" strip across top of windshield. All this reflects light, & heat. Dark tint absorbs light, & heat. This gets you hot glass, & infrared to the interior.

Nah, I have a pet peeve when I can't see the other driver. Is he waving me on? telling me go,?flipping me off?, not looking at all and preparing to dart out in front of me?

The comments above are why I go with lighter tint that still gives supreme heat rejection while allowing me to be seen. Tint does not need to be 20% VLT and lower to get the great heat rejection with some of the better films out there. Heard good things about XPEL XR+ above and I am a fan of 3M Crystalline which even at their 50% shade, has kept my sedan much cooler in the Florida heat/sun.

Seems like all the gangsters like hiding behind dark tinted windows. It’s covert, obscured, unidentified, secret, hidden - all good gangster tools.

I went the cheap route tinting my front windows on my Jeep. I wish I had just went ahead and got the more expensive tint for heat., it really makes a difference in my BMW.

I agree it really helps in Georgia. It was kind of a waste of money on my Jeep since since I ride with the doors off or my windows down and sunrider open most of the time.

Results in link below. I say "yay" on tint, if heat rejection without a very dark look.
