Absolutely nothing at all. These aftermarket drain plugs save you, what, 10-15 seconds on a 15 minute job?

It's retired boomers in Florida (apparently) who are bored and need something to putz and fiddle with. And slightly 'spergy owners who feel compelled to modify everything that is OEM.
You guys make a good point. I've never actually had any problem with any factory drain plug. I think the main thing is, don't cross thread or over tighten it. Now, if someone (@Jeep Junkie) is going to change their oil every time they drive to the corner store for a gallon of milk. You might want one of these fancy drain plugs. 😁

not to be that guy but this seems like a skill issue ;)
Not saying I don't have a skill issue and mostly just touting the benefits. But in reality, for some reason, I just hate changing oil and want the easiest laziest way possible to do so.

Did you watch that YouTube reviewer who inspected my used oil filter? In private he told me to never bother him again with such a clean oil filter. He couldn't find even one small carbon particle under his microscope 😃👍

This is the tale as old as modding cars. It's perfectly OK to want something like this. If you like it, and you feel it's easier to use, it's cobnvenient, etc. Maybe [thing] is just cool and you want [thing] because it's cool. Nothing wrong with that.

Some people just get defensive about their vehicle/mods if someone else points out that [thing] isn't really necessary, or it's not some Wunder technology, or just not as beneficial as some make it out to be.

We are talking about a single bolt, after all. But again, if you like it, then there's nothing wrong with it.

Guys, do such plugs exist for transmission? Asking for a friend.

All good. Statements get blurry on the Internet with no sense of emotion through text. I am not trying to be defensive, or at least I don't feel defensive. Just explaining why I have it and my experiences with it. I don't blindly recommend this mod but if someone asks I am here for it.

Also, I agree with your mindset and am mostly the same way. Keep it simple, don't add crap just to add crap, don't mod just because joe blow says you gotta have it. This is absolutely not a must have mod but if you do want a fancy wizz bang oil drain valve this would be the one I recommend. Even though I have zero experience with any others.

Maybe find the thread size of the transmission plug and see if they are made in that size. The only other things I could think of being an issue is space to fit the adapter.

Frankly I run a top suction system and don't bother draining the oil.
I've had problems wiith those not getting all of the oil. It takes practice to get the hose end exactly to the bottom of the pan. If you miss, you can leave behind too much oil.

So much easier and a wiser move to just let the oil drain out of to the oil catch pan.

I just pull over along side the road and drop the drain plug and have a beer or two while waiting for it to drain....after the second beer I figure I can put the plug back in, add a 5qt jug of oil and toss the empty jug to the side of the road, put a few rounds of 9mm or 10mm in the empty jug for fun and be on my way in less time than it would take most of you guys to figure what to do with the used oil filter......I usually just find a gopher hole to stuff that down into......
